Simple yet fun

I like how the game is pretty much endless and never ends and you are given a few different ways to play as well. The voice acting for the pony was actually not that bad. I could see this being a game that young girls might enjoy playing though in some free time.

Their is not much in way of a challenge aside from being warned of spikes and not being able to see the full screen while jumping around meaning you need more patience and knowing when to jump for an item or candy.

The graphics are cute in a way I guess but I would be kind of freaked out if I saw a pinata pony running around in the yard or something like that.

Overall though, this turned out to be a well and fun game anyways.

Thanks, glad you liked it :)

Seems alright

The gameplay tended to be a bit annoying at first but after a few minutes of practicing the player should be able to get a better concept of surviving and defeating the enemies with shields and the such. I tended to go around a spot and try to get them from behind.

Game tended to be a bit annoying every now and then but a bit realistic since whenever I took a lot of damage I would start to move a bit slower than usual allowing the enemy to get in more hits on me.

The sound effects were nice but adding in some background music would be really nice and give the player a bit better feel of the atmosphere as for where they are.

Reminds me of when I use to play laser tag a lot when I was younger. I would try to stick to a few key spots and snipe everyone who wasn't on my team as they passed on by me.

Overall, a nice attempt at a game but some music would make it nicer. Good luck on future games.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm not entirely sure what would make suitable background music for a survival game, but I'm still on the look out. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

When you said the game was a bit annoying every now and then, what did you mean?
Was it the User Interface (I'm working on improving it)? The keyboard system of aiming and strafeing?
Or something else?

Seems alright

The background reminds me slightly of Pokemon but mostly the retro Zelda games for the Pocket Game Boy system. What was the name of the song playing on the overworld anyways? It sounded very retro but giving credit to where the music came from is always nice as well.

The playing was quite simplistic and very RPG like in play as well except when I tried to attack some of the people at the start of the game I needed a weapon or spell so I went and hunted for them like I would in most RPG's since you pretty are worthless and weak until you get some spells and equipment am I right?

The inability to run from battles is a pain though since in case you never noticed, most RPGs let you flee if the enemy is too strong but most of the enemies in the game were mediocre and why wasn't the axe considered a weapon? Was it just for cutting tree stumps only?

Overall, retro black and white pixelated graphics were real nice but the only thing I would add is a run ability to the battles. Aside from that the game was pretty fun anyways.

The music, as stated in the menu screen, was made by Kevin Macleod. The song is called 'Klockworx'. May I remind you of the fact that this game is an adventure game, not an RPG, hence the fact that it requires more thinking skills and item trading rather than collecting equipment and spells. Thank you very much for your review.

Great game

Not surprising that SlntCobra made some good songs as well though. The gameplay was kind of like Warioware but less games and more fun. Was also hilarious as well with his antics of going up the stairs and running around and everything else as well.

Voice acting was quite smooth and came in literally crisp and clear as well. Also was I pissing on the car to put the fire out or what? Oh well it was good anyways. Also I liked how I picked up the items but I only needed two of them to get out of the room. Like how the hall was a reference to Pac-Man as well.

Lastly, really loved the Donkey Kong reference just littered all over the game since that's where the flame sprite comes from as well. Very nice as well to be honest.

Overall, I would have to say this is a fun game. Still have quite a few of your games to review as well.

Fro responds:

Thanks, yeah you pee'd on the car and stuff

Fun yet Hard

I enjoy how the game play kept getting harder as you last longer on each difficulty. Probably the only weapon I didn't like was the purple lasers since instead of going straightforward they would just zig zag off in random directions instead. Good and hard playability makes it an even better game. No real way in which you can improve on this game except maybe give the game a plot to it so the player can feel like they really are defending something.

The medals work just fine so nothing to really change there anyways so that's one less thing for you two to worry about on this game. the choice in music was rather fitting as all the songs had a nice space feel to them as well during gameplay. However I would only fix it to where the health only comes when you get low on health as to add more suspense to the game and give the player a feeling they could die if they dont get the health pack quickly.

Aside from all of that, this is a brilliantly fun and addicting game to play, nice work on this gem.

Glad you enjoyed! But all the comments re fair about the playability but its nice to know someone liked it as is ;)
Ye there is no plot in this game as it was more a test game to see if a game of this type would be well received. Perhaps will make another iteration and weave a plot into it.

Pretty easy

This game actually turned out to be a bit easy since it's kind of hard to get the second chick to start moving which I guess is a coding flaw that you overlooked while producing this funny cute thing.

Pretty funny how after you win round 1 that the chick chirps forever and round 2 never starts strangely.

struma responds:

It's a two player game. Find a friend and start pecking!

Once somebody wins, you have to click the R to start the next round.

It's a pretty shoddy game, but since it was the first game I made, it holds a special place in my heart.

Good yet hard

this actually a good collaborative game, retro physics while making a mockery of a current real world problem is pretty funny. Taking cheep-cheeps and clogging te pipes with them is pretty original it seems as well as those annoying scuba divers who try to destroy the fish making it hard to stop the spills.

I found as you get higher up in the levels that the gameplay gets harder and harder and I seem to get less time as I get better in the levels. Overall this seems to be a rather fun and challenging game, good job.

Mockery responds:

Thanks for the nice review! And yeah, the game definitely gets harder as you progress. If you can last through World 3-4, you'll get to see a nice cinematic of BP's destruction at the hands of Mario. Good luck!

Good tutorial

This could be quite helpful to someone who is new at making flash and needs a simple catchy title to draw the viewers attention. the tutorial was well laid out and the two medals which are both 0 points a piece were quite easy to get as well. Kudos on making a simple tutorial for people.

eewgames responds:

Thanks you. The medals have 0 points because they arenĀ“t approved.

Great game

Concept: Apperently you are to try and figure out why things happened and try to remember everything in it. You can't touch enemies without taking damage either which is a trouble at the start unless you have enough gems and talk to the Deity(boy) at the start of the game several times to max out health and get the regen ability from one of the three NPC's in the game who have it ready.

Art/Animation: Very pixelated and retro feeling overall, the game design seems to be matching that of an old Mario game or something along that line except you can't get touched by enemies.

Story/Stroyline: Very nifty it is, you start and hear an explosion and forget everything, you then go on a quest to gather things, talk to wacky or annoying NPCs, collect gems and fight your nightmare form when it's sleepy time. In the end you remember everything and left with a cliffhanger making you wish to play the second game that will come in this series.

System: The boss seems to be very hard unless you managed to get the dash, lvl five jump, and double jump abilities. It also helps to get the hardy ability so you remain unhurt for a bit longer once it gets low on health. The game can be beaten way too fast, you should make it to where you can't enter the sacred place and touch up the computer until day 3 so people have to play through instead of just heading to the finish early.

The game tends to be hard to start but eventually gets easy after you're maxed out and have all the abilities maxed and unlocked.

Very nice game, look forward to Gather UP!

Thanks for the long review.

It's nice to see people get 'it' when it comes to doing the boss.

Fun and hard

The gameplay seems to be rather simple, get the ball to the end without touching the boundaries or getting the bubble popped. The farther you go the more harder it gets to make progress on the levels.

Really enjoyed how you spent time and effort with trying to make this work out just fine, very nice job you did there.
