Kingdom Hearts

Nice to see the influence is from Kingdom Hearts and it sounds a lot like something that came out of that game too. I think the only real thing missing here is the usual heavy use of xylophones to create a wonderful tune. This sounds a lot like what should play during the Lingering Sentiment and Terra-Xehanort, Xemnas battles in the games. Really sweet piece of work here, I like it a lot too!!

The xylophone is very light and sounds good here. The bass goes up and down really fast making it sound like the enemy is just running at you with their keyblade/swords/weapons of choice. The piano is also a nice touch here as it gives you a feeling of hope like you could hopefully defeat the heartless and nobodies. Would be funny if they used this piece in the new Kingdom Hearts game they are working on.

The drums sound dynamic and just keep a constant battle march theme at work right up to the cymbals as well. The violins and orchestra just make this a rather amazing piece of work.

Overall, incredible battle music, sounds great.

UltimaTricksta responds:

There aren't any xylophones in this piece, you're mistaking that for the high notes on the piano. I don't think this piece is strong enough for something like the Lingering Sentiment or Terranort battles...more like simple situational battles.

Thanks a great deal for your in-depth review, though~ Much appreciated.

Catchy

Well I found this to be rather catchy anyways. Has a really smooth beat going on as the tune moves along. Like what you did on this piece. Kind of makes me think of Pokemon Colosseum. Really nice piece.

The piano is great and love when it does those little speed ups too. The bass line is rather simple and calming. The saxophone is pretty cool actually, love how it does some complex note plays as well. This is just a really nice and simple piece. The drums make it complete too, nice work.

Overall, good and catchy jazz piece.

stormalot responds:

Much appreciated man! Catchiness is exactly what I was going for here actually so Im really glad you think so man!

Nice castle beat

Well it seems to sound like a very nice castle piece anyways. Does give you a vision of castles too as well. Kind of makes me think one is playing a platform game where they play as the princess seeking to leave the castle once and for all so they no longer have to be bored or annoyed by being kidnapped a lot. Very nice loop.

The synth piano sounds calm and serene here as if just encouraging you to escape that castle you once called home. The bass line seems to be two notes bouncing back and forth with each other too. The drum part is very simple and nice.

Overall, good piece.

Thank you very much SCTE3 for you rather awesome review.

I am sorry for the very very late reply. How I managed to miss your comment is beyond me :C

Empty hearts

Kind of feels and sounds like a love song of sorts where someone who felt so empty wonders who they are. They search the city for answers only to find nothing at all. Soon a hand extends to them, they have no idea who the girl is but she wants to be his friend. He gets up and goes with her, she invites him to her house and tries to be nice to him yet he acts skittish because no one has been nice to him in a long time. Maybe his life will turn around for once.

The synth here sounds like bliss as I hear two of them. One of them is playing some long ambient notes while a second one plays a beat that makes you feel pretty happy and great at the same time too. Really liking that a lot. The piano is also a rather pleasant piece to listen to here.

The bass line is solid and helps you feel relaxed for the most part as it sort of takes your mind on a little journey of sorts. The drums also sound quite great and really swell on the ears too. Love the drum beat.

Overall, very nice piece of work, glad to see it turned out great.

TeHLoY responds:

Thanks! I love your visualization.

Hmm.. don't remember putting a bassline there.

Groovy

It just does have a real relaxing feel to it. Just sit back, kick your legs up on the couch or on a chair and enjoy watching clouds fly by above, maybe even see a few rain and thunder storms outside. Really nice piece, also kind of makes me think of Resident Evil for some reason as well.

The bass is very soothing. It almost has a feel of just being to make you calm down a lot if you were upset for some reason too. Then the drums play a soft track that lures you into being able to sit down and simply relax there in that chair or couch. Very soft.

The the pan flute feels real soft and kind here as it allows your imagination to run to soothing things that could happen on any day in the sky. Relaxing indeed.

Overall, I find this to be a real relaxing piece of work.

Review Request Club

SkyeWint responds:

What the- I didn't request this. Odd. I only just uploaded this. Were you just going through the new music and listening to it, reviewed, and forgot that this wasn't requested? Or... was it habit to put "Review Request Club" at the end of your review? :P

Thanks for the review though, I enjoyed reading it! And because of it, I will now actually put it on for a review.

(Question: If you don't have a problem with a piece, why do you always review it 9? I don't think I've ever seen a 10 from you.)

Good remake

Seems to be able to have captured that dark and weird feeling of the battle I think. Smithy was one truly weird final boss since he went through different head forms too.

The drums maintain a very nice and simple beat that seems easy to follow and even play. The stringed instrument sounds great. Also I hear a xylophone. The bass sounds pretty pleasantly done on piano I think. The tune just has a dark demise feeling to it like this is your last chance to beat him once and for all.

Overall, excellent cover, excellent boss battle.

Take Care

Reminds me a lot of The Ramones and Iggy Pop too. Sounds really cool though. This is a pretty swell punk piece though, sounds like you spent a while coming up with lyrics too.

The guitar sounds quite cool and fast. The drums sound rapid like any punk song and love how the drummer seems to have a lot of spirit put into it too. The bass breakdown was really nice here. The vocals are very cool as well as the backing vocals.

Overall, when it all comes together it sounds great.

Thanks ^.^

Ambience

Kind of reminds me of the water levels from the first Donkey Kong Country but a little less creepy actually. Never got to play DKC2 though, always wanted to though. Was the game any good?

The synth plays a good beat and I like how it has a constant feeling of rising up too which makes it cool to hear to my ears anyways. The bass line has the similar effect too and sounds nice. Like the drums playing that simple beat they got.

The secondary sounds I hear provide a lot of ambient tone for this. It just makes it sound like you were exploring some area that had not been touched by anything in ages too. Really nice effect.

Overall, wonderful cover piece, sounds really nice.

teckworks responds:

Oh, yes it was. It was heralded as the best in the series. The game's got about 2+ hours of playtime compared to DKC1 if you want to complete it 100%. Plus great graphics and a stellar soundtrack to go with it. Thanks for the feedback, good sir~ :>

Soothing

I found this to be a nice and soothing house piece at least. Makes you feel real calm and relaxed as you listen to this short piece. Very nice and pleasing though, nice work here.

The synth sounds pretty hoppy but also as if it were trying to lure you in while a new song prepares to be played. The bass line remains soft and in the backing area supporting the song and helping it move along. The drums are cool sounding and I like how they feel here too, really good.

Overall, soothing house loop.

You-Kraine responds:

thank you mate! very great words you are saying ;D

Good remake

That shepard note just fills you with absolute dread every time you hear it like all the happiness was being sucked out of you the whole time too. Really nice yet simple remake though with just a sheperd note, bass, and some up and down sounding keyboard effects as well. Very nice and creepy loop here.

Majorgeneral responds:

Thanks :3
