Sleepy time

Kind of makes you think of someone going to sleep and the screen slowly fades out as it shows what is going on in their head while this music plays to it. Have to say that this sounds really soft and pleasant on the ears as well too, also kind of makes me think of Earthbound.

The drums are simple and you can clearly hear the bass then drum hit repeat over and over again which is relaxing actually. The phaser effect on the one synth feels cool to me actually since it carries a real calming tone to it. Then the ambient bass notes are also pleasing as it helps move the song forward a bit. The leitmotif sound I hear is cool but also makes me think of Earthbound a bit too.

The guitar sounds really nice when it plays here. Helps you feel even more relaxed too.

Overall, really neat sleeping song I think. Kind of makes you think of people sleeping and going on a voyage in their dreams anyways.

Calm

Surprisingly simple piece of music but it also relaxes your ears as well. It sounds quite nice too. Really enjoyed how simple her theme was, it felt as if she was just there to comfort you more or less and warn you of what Ganon was up to. Nice loop as well.

Ocarina-Kid responds:

Sheik's theme has to be one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard, which is probably why I get away with covering it in such a simple fashion haha. Thanks man!

Excellence

Well I must say you got the voice for him anyways. Should speak up a bit at times since sometimes it is harder to hear you sadly. Aside from that very nice Eggman voice.

DrMackFoxx responds:

I have to agree that my volume levels for this voice need some work. It has been almost a year since I created this recording and I am working hard at getting better at this sort of thing in addition to more experience with audio editing. :)

Glad you liked this little skit and thanks a lot for the honest review. I really appreciate it. :)

Soft fun

I can see this going well in Dance Dance Revolution actually. See it as one of the earlier stage songs where it helps you to try getting used to the level design and how to dance to the game. Really soft and nice song though, I do like it.

The xylophone is probably the nicest yet softest touch to this trance piece. Kind of gives a dream like feel to the song as if all fears and problems were fading away for the time you hear this as well.

The synth is bouncy and nice to listen to on the ears. Like how it just gives that constant feel of ever happiness too. The bass is really soft and helps give a back beat to the song that gives the song a boost to keep going.

The drums are pretty cool. Enjoyed how you paired them with claps on it.

Overall, relaxing piece.

Karlssonffs responds:

Thanx m8!

I really appreciate your review, and im very glad you liked it!
Cheers! :)

Pretty cool

I think the only real thing possibly missing here is adding your voice to the mix and mixing it like Avast Fluttershy's Ass. Aside from that it sounds like a very soft remix of the original piece actually which is pretty nice to hear.

The bass line is very deep but also soothing and helps to soften the song a lot. The drums are also very neat sounding and give a sweet melody as they go along.

The synth sounded incredibly soft and the second one playing longer and soft notes was also very nice. Liked the little speed up area as it makes it sound slightly hyper and cool.

Overall, very smooth remake.

God, i havn't gotten a review for a while. Glad to hear you liked it.

I was thinking of combining avast fluttershys ass actually with this song almost. I still have it in my mind. The only reason why i havn't yet though is because i have tried that before where i pitch shift a clip. I tried that with rage guy fuuuu and it didn't work D:

If i had sony vegas or some fancy stuff like that, then i would be more willing.
I am totally making more midi songs now since this turned out so wondeful.

Long trip

I remember that level quite well. Took me nearly half a level just to finally pass it. Ironically you would expect a super hard boss at the end but nope, it's just Bowser being lazy in a acid hot tub. Really good remake though.

The brass gives a dark tone. Really like the dark and damp tone of the trumpets making it feel like its your last hope to make it past all that lava in the mountain cave. Then the cymbals and orchestra give a nice flow and dramatic effect as well. Sounds like a really dark and harsh remix of Bowser in the Dark world too.

Overall, excellent remake.

Ironclover responds:

Thank you, and when I first saw, I didn't think I was going to fight a huge Bowser, but that was proved wrong. Tho the fight was still rough. :)

Party

Sounds like something you would hear at a party in a video game. Then suddenly after the song is done there is either credits or an adventure starting for the main character too. Really cool piece though.

The synth sounds completely happy and very high up there too. Really like how it makes the song feel great, also kind of has a guitar sound to it as well. The bass line was pretty cool and smooth on this pne as it helps the beat carry on once more. The drums sound nice paired with claps actually, cool.

Overall, really cool piece of work.

glad you enjoyed it. I have to say, for my first video game style song, I think it came out pretty well.

Soft

I like the minimal use of sounds in this song. The echo effect on the voice is really nice on the ears too. Kind of sounds like really sad credit music or something that would play for the opening of a movie in a sad manner too. The song sounds nice though and I like it a lot.

The guitar sounds pleasing. I also hear a slight bit of guitar being played backward and possible electric guitar right? The flute is a very nice addition to this piece since it kind of makes the song feel maddening anyways. The drums were also kind of sporadic anyways since you never expect them to play but they sound cool.

The piano was nice sounding. I like how you also used an organ as well to make this piece sound so strange for the listener.

Overall, sounds great so far for a work in progress. Liked it.

StickyRemnant responds:

You're hearing things my friend. There's no backwards guitar! (tho I know which sound you mean - it's an organ :))

I'm not happy with the drums yet. I didn't have a bass guitar available when doing this so the ending part with the drum hits isn't as impactful as I'd like.

Thanks for the review... and Im glad it sounds maddening and sad :)

Bouncy

Has a real boss battle feel to it anyways. Kind of like a heavy remix of a boss battle from Sonic the Hedgehog series or MegaMan anyways, both of which are pretty good series anyways. The song just carries itself in a steady manner while providing an atmosphere for a boss.

The synth sounds really good and I like how the notes linger for a moment before hitting a new note and continuing the boss like theme that plays here. The synth also has a really cool feel to it as if one were pulling out some cool swords or something.

The bass line is cool and has a somewhat nice phaser effect to it that makes it feel like a great area to the mind too. Then the drums come along and provide a beat needed to make the song complete and great sounding as well too.

Overall, very awesome boss like piece.

thanks for the review! this was the first song i made with fl studio, i were kind of newbie, but somehow, i managed to do it, (and some tutorials of course) i really appreciate your review, the only thing i see it wasnt ok was the final, its very weird xD

Calming chaos

Kind of reminds me of Kingdom Hearts actually. Reminds me of the Aladdin levels and the Castle That Never Was too. Then it all gets pumped up with a hyper feel to it that makes it feel like Tekken was added to the mix too.

The synth sounds quite hyper and gives a boss battle feel to it as if you were fighting Xemnas/Xehanort for one last time before he finally stops trying to put all worlds back into darkness again.

The bass line is pretty solid and smoothly played here as it makes you feel hyper. The drums sound really cool and I like how fast they play while keeping a main rhythm going to make you feel relaxed and calm during the boss battle too.

Overall, awesome boss battle sounding piece.
