This does have a great cave feel to it. Nice work on making another good 8-bit goodness piece such as this. What program did you use anyways? The tune has a simple flow to it as if a feeling of exploring the place to find out what all is going on there. Really love the synth the most too.
Thanks alot for your feedback! I use FL Studio with the Peach and Toad VST Plugins (you have to install them) as well as the 3xOcs for the the short synth hi notes.
For something with only a guitar and vocals this sounds very beautiful. As for genre I would classify it as Indie actually since it seems to lean more toward the genre than anything else.
The voice is very loud, crisp, and very clear to hear. What kind of microphone or recording device did you use here? The guitar sounds beautiful and I like it a lot. Very catchy and pleasing to hear.
Hi SCTE3. I know it was Neumann mic but not sure which kind. ill find out. Yeah, the vocals are clean and crisp..Ill prob put all of the next tracks in to indie then. thanks for ur response..
And here I was looking at couple of your SSBM tunes last night and then you submit this today. The tune has a nice dub feel to it. Really great remix of the original piece though and it loops just perfectly. Really nice little remix.
The dub sounds give a soft feel the whole as in letting you know you are done with a stage and it is time to relax for a few minutes before moving onto the next level. The synth has a high cheesy feel to it that sounds very close to the original so excellent working there on that one too. The drums have a nice triplet pattern to them that I like here.
Not completely sure of what your friend is saying but it doesn't sound too repetitive. I hear light vocals but not entirely sure of what it is that they are saying either sadly. The tune has a very nice and light dance revved feel. The song just kind of makes you feel relaxed.
The piano is nice and kind of has an icy feel to it as if letting you know it is alright to chill out and relax. The bass synth was nice on the ears and gave a feel of just sitting there and thinking about the week and what all has yet to come or even happen yet.
The drums are nice and dreamy in that they carry a great and powerful beat to them that helps move the rest of the song to help you head up to the cosmos and just enjoy the day too as you float along endlessly in space. The vocals are also nice, great and calm.
I can just imagine this playing during a very awkward sex scene in a movie with it being a close up of the dick and vagina the whole time while the two are dressed up very strangely in random clothing that was laying around. I hear some slight vocals though.
Sexy words I hear there. The synth has a quirky tone and feel to it as if making it all the more awkward in the bedroom for the couple. The bass is nice and helps motivate the beat to keep going. The drums are pleasing on the ears and give a great feel to me as well too. Very nicely done piece of work here. Quirky vocals too.
I think this would be fitting for a dark styled game where you have no idea what is going on and you feel all alone too as well. The tune is just strange to me I think as it flows at an odd tempo too. Kind of sounds like it would go well in a nightmare styled retro game actually. Very creepy beat.
The drums are cool anyways. The synth has a very odd feel to it. The bass here sounds nice and backs up the wacky sounding synth however actually which isn't too bad at all.
I like how it has that feel of you beginning to start a very long boss battle. The only bad and highly annoying part of the boss battle is you need to leave one minion out at all times or it will summon a whole new slew of them to come and bother you while it gets in cheap attacks at you to annoy you and dwindle down your health very quickly. Very amazingly done boss styled song.
The xylophone sounded awesome as it almost always has a rising feel when I heard it in the song. The guitars are very well done and sound almost as if someone was really playing them too. Anytime I try to use them in Fl Studio or the piano it never sounds like a piano for some reason, more like just some bass notes or sine notes maybe for some reason.
The drums sound incredible and I love how they have that hard hitting beat as if saying you can beat the boss if you keep coming back at them and being patient enough to wait to strike. The piano is nice and sounds beautiful here. Love how it gives a feel of starting up and ending the battle and all you have to do is keep trying and never give in.
The chorus is very lovely I think. The bass is long and ambient sounding notes too. The trombones are nice here and awesome to me too. When the all the instruments play at once it makes for an amazing work of art as a song. Great job here.
"I like how it has that feel of you beginning to start a very long boss battle."
Lol, another comparison to boss battles. I'm OK with that :D.
"The only bad and highly annoying part of the boss battle is you need to leave one minion out at all times or it will summon a whole new slew of them to come and bother you while it gets in cheap attacks at you to annoy you and dwindle down your health very quickly."
Haha yes you've just summed up most of the frustrating boss battles in the history of gaming :P.
"Very amazingly done boss styled song."
Thanks!
"The xylophone sounded awesome as it almost always has a rising feel when I heard it in the song."
That's actually not a xylophone, but you were close. It's a glockenspiel.
This is one of my first songs in which I significantly incorporated that instrument. I like the outcome!
"The guitars are very well done and sound almost as if someone was really playing them too."
Someone DID play them :P. I asked SBB to record those guitars for me!
"Anytime I try to use them in Fl Studio or the piano it never sounds like a piano for some reason, more like just some bass notes or sine notes maybe for some reason."
No surprise there. When it comes to the default instruments that come with FL Studio, well... I can make more realistic sounds with my mouth :P. Get this soundfont: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V5YNBFRO (use this to extract it: http://www.melodymachine.com/sfark.ht m). It's great for miscellaneous sounds and with a bit of mixing they can sound pretty good. Far from the best, but leagues better than FL's default crap, lol.
"The drums sound incredible and I love how they have that hard hitting beat as if saying you can beat the boss if you keep coming back at them and being patient enough to wait to strike."
Heh, nice observation! I'm glad you like the drums. Haggard didn't but it's nice to know that some people still like them :P.
"The piano is nice and sounds beautiful here. Love how it gives a feel of starting up and ending the battle and all you have to do is keep trying and never give in."
Thanks, I'm happy you liked the piano. Being a pianist myself I always strive to make the pianos in my songs sound half decent.
"The chorus is very lovely I think. The bass is long and ambient sounding notes too. The trombones are nice here and awesome to me too. When the all the instruments play at once it makes for an amazing work of art as a song. Great job here.
Overall, incredible boss song!"
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate the great feedback!
Really do like the galloping drum track, kind of makes me think of a certain Dead or Alive song actually. The tone of this song has a feel of kind of time traveling or possibly moving a forward a bit and getting a grip on life at the same time. The tune has a great quality to it though.
The synth has an icy grip to it but it also sounds very light in tune giving that feel of being overly happy to go and do things with your life. I guess a synth solo later into the song could also be cool as well. The bass here is solid and sounds very nice on the ears as it helps back up the synth here too.
The drums sound great and have a good rhythm too. Love the plastic sound I keep hearing as well, forgot what that part of the drum was called but that's alright. Loved the breakdown and calming area where it starts with a bass then adds in the synth and slowly brings back in the drums. It just sounds very nice right there. Gives a feel of you having found hope in an empty city.
Good that you liked it! Speaking of Dead or Alive, I do enjoy myself some New Wave. Maybe I'll post some once I figure out how to sing without latency in FL Studio.
By "plastic sound", do you mean the rim of the drum? Also, later in the song, I'll definitely make a synth solo.
Thank you for the review!

Really great beat. Milla Jovovich is a great actress too. The piano, drums, and everything coming together to make this song is great. Keep on making great music. Great beat, very cool on the ears. Gives a feel of going to a rave of sorts.
This is a pretty great piece of work and I enjoy the slow start having a video game atmospheric feel to it and you very slowly and gradually feel the kick coming on as it slowly switches to light wubs and gets better and better. This song was pretty cool though and gave a feel of being in a boss battle too.
The synth has a very light and cheery feel to it as if letting you know there is a light at the end and all you have to do is beat the boss to reach it. The dub is pretty great here and has a great tempo along with it making it feel awesome. The drums are cool and I love the radio like filter they get from time to time too.
Overall ,awesome dubstep piece. This song is just amazing.
