Plants

Well I can picture this being something you hear when you did aromatherapy with some non soothing plants at least. Has a really cool action level feel to it as well I think. Would go great with some fast paced explorer as well. Very well composed piece of work and I really enjoy this as well.

The piano sounds blissful and calm while the tune goes on. The synth sounds really cool and gives the feel of exploring new places trying to reach the final levels as quickly as possible too giving them that retro fast in your face pace level designed feel.

The vocals were cool and kind of remind me of My Little Pony Shadowbolts actually. The background jungle like sound gives a feel of just being outside somewhere unaware of what you need to be doing to survive. The bass carries a solid and enjoyable rhythm too. The drums were awesome to hear.

Overall, nicely done piece, incredibly awesome.

Awesome! Thanks for that wicked review :) Very insightful!

Furious

The lyrics are very nice to hear although you could speak a bit louder into the microphone actually to make it clearer I think. The piano is very rapid fire and goes real fast, I can just see someone playing it real fast. Kind of feels like some sort of boss battle song as well. This is a very strange yet simple entry. Not bad at all.

Overall, nice piano and vocals, great work. Just be a bit louder is all. Nice work here.

JPRixdorfer responds:

Thank you :)

hm, I thought I sang the lyrics, not speak them :D anyway I sing quite loudly, I was even afraid my neighbours would come over and ask if I had gone insane completely. But what can you expect with a 15,- USB mic? It sucks. Of course the singing would sound brilliant, clear and I'd hit every note with a better mic, haha!

Short bittersweetness

Well this is very short and actually not all that bad and has a quirky feel as if something weird was going to happen and then it starts all over again to the beginning of the trip and it never ends either. This happened to be a rather strange beat I think since it is rather short for a piece. Was expecting longer but this works just fine.

The guitar sounded great and the drums at the end give a feel of them simply laying down and passing out into a nap from everything going on. I hear cow bells and some trombones and such giving this a very bizarre feel.

Overall, short and rather strange if anything, not bad.

Atlas responds:

Thanks for the review! But I didn't you cowbells but I did use trombone. I actually thought about not finishing the song and just using the part that starts at 00:21 and making a song out of that since I thought it was just wonderful.

Rather interesting

Well this one feels like it would go well into a horror movie of some kind with post apocalyptic scenery. Very beautiful dark sounding song as well. It just feels like you are stuck somewhere and while you wish to escape something keeps you from leaving, someone interesting is there yet you are unaware of what it is too. You keep going trying to discover what it all means.

The drums here are very nice and dark feeling. Feels like there is a bit of a filter on them to make them sound a bit heavier yet lighter in sound area. The bass was considerably dark feeling to me and gave a feel of a dark rhythm as you try to find the answers. The synth sounds really dark like you were sticking to the darker notes here.

The slow down near the end gives an idea and feeling as if the person was passing out for some reason too, not bad at all.

Overall, very dark and strange feeling, excellent job here.

OrphenFire responds:

Thanks for the review (: Your interpretation of the song is quite fitting. Glad you liked it.

Awesome

I can rap to this actually since lyrics come to me on this one. Maybe I will try it this once. Sounds like a perfect rap beat as well for something mellow or possibly raising up to sounding harsh. Really nice to hear it.

The drums are nice on the ears and I enjoy them too. The vocals are cheery and nice on the ears too. I like the piano and bell sounds that I keep hearing on this one as they give a feeling of niceness to the beat I think. No bass which is cool with me.

Overall, awesome rap beat, should leave it as it is. :D

DJM00se responds:

its actually got bass haha! but its not in your face bass! thanks for the review!

Enjoyable

Kind of has an industrial slight feel to it but for the most part it has a very nice atmosphere to it. Possibly a theme for the Everfree Forest maybe when you are nearing it and getting ready to enter maybe? Very nicely done though for that much anyways. I would not mind hearing a full version of this anyways? Was this in ableton or garageband?

The drums and claps make for a nice combination and the slight echo effect on some hits gives a nice feel of going somewhere far off and maybe never being able to turn back as the forest engulfs your personality and your mind becomes twisted with the thoughts that no one cares for you anymore and thus a spark of Nightmare Moon that was left comes and slowly begins to take over your body and mind corrupting your thoughts to where you can no longer think clearly.

The The synth gives a slight feeling of hope though that as she takes over your mind and slowly morphs you into something weird looking being your mind but your body overcome with darkness that you may still have people who care for you. Hearing that Nightmare Moon has returned the Mane six coming looking for her unaware it is only you but you fight them unaware that Nightmare Moon is controlling you and twisting your thoughts. The bass gives a soothing feeling too.

Overall, I like it, would love to hear a full version soon. ^_^

coleknows responds:

Thanks man and hey, this would work well for an everfree forest theme. Just would have to make it a little darker, thats all.

Also, unfortunately i made this with garageband. I just can't stay away from it :P
I will try to make a full version after im done with a request, and this dnb song.

Classy

Well the guitar here sounds very classy and I like the light echo effect you left here on the song as well. Gives a feeling of peace as well. I can also see someone walking on a highway while this song plays in the background too. This is a beautiful guitar song I think. It could make a great music video as well actually. Very well composed.

Really just enjoy how you layered the guitars on each other too. The bass line here is smooth and helps the song keep on moving ahead. The drums carry a smooth rhythm and beat that makes you feel like they are at their ends trying to figure out how to move ahead in life too. Then the guitar keeps on coming and giving more hope. Beautiful song.

Overall, really love this song, nice first entry.

freakinjoe35 responds:

Thanks for the feedback, and for taking the time to listen! A lot of what you said in your review -particularly the emotions and imagery - was what I was going for when I recorded the song, so I'm glad it came across even in this rough recording.

Entertaining

Well this turned out rather well and to be quite enjoyable as well. The beat seems rather well done too. Like how it starts away from the tune and then quickly becomes a remix of the tune which is really swell. Can't really find much I don't like about it. I guess you could have added in something else to act as vocals I guess.

The synth sounds cheery and very well done. The bell synth was happy feeling on the ears as well too. The bass is completely bouncy and a pleasure to listen to. The vocals were and the drums with claps made for a nice combination, very nice work there.

Overall, very nice tune.

YakovlevArt responds:

Hahaha, yeah actual vocals from the original would have been sick touch, but i felt the track was too short for the vocals.

If I find myself making another 90's remix, I'll make sure to add original vocals =]

Thanks for the review buddy.

Video gaming

This sounds like it would make for a very nice snow or freezing cold level in a video game actually. Really enjoy the tone of it and how it feels completely chilled out as well. Very nice work, slow to start up the beat but it gives that cold feel like you need to get somewhere to warm up as well. Not bad at all.

The bass has a nice sound to it and I like how it lingers for a bit after the note is hit. The windy effect here is great and gives the feel of actually kind of being stuck out there in the snow as well trying to find someplace to go inside and get warm so you don't freeze.

The synth has a lighthearted charm to it as if showing you that someone out there cares for your well being and is asking you to come inside so you won't freeze. The drums are light in beat and very nice on the ears.

Overall, nice chilly beat, I enjoy it.

Wow quite the analysis there, but I love it! You're pretty much spot on with the feel I wanted to get, you even mentioned things I didn't really think about. Makes me wonder if I should put more thought into some songs. Thanks for the in-depth review, always appreciate them!

Pretty sweet

Well I like how it makes me think of candy anyways and the beat is pretty nice as well as it builds up into dubstep very calmly. Would not mind seeing this used in some kind of calm flash anyways. The piece seems to make you feel happy just hearing it I think which is pretty nice I think.

The dub sounds were real enjoyable and I like how it stays light for the most part too since it doesn't give a feeling of being overwhelmed. Then I hear a slight voice thing coming in too giving a feel of being in a place of great relaxation too.

The synth was very nice on the ears and I liked that a lot too. The female vocals were cool anyways, kind of felt like you were watching her relax. The dub bass was cool actually. The drums give the final piece here to make this a great work of art I think, nice job there.

Overall, very creative peaceful dubstep song.

durn responds:

Haha, candy eh? :D I would also like to see this in a puzzle game or something, would sit well I think. Glad to hear it took you to a happy place. :)

Aye, I'm new to dubstep so I used a few loops and programmed in some fills & automation to achieve the beat.

I was indeed going for a more peaceful style of song. I like dreamscapes with big ambience and uplifting harmonies. Dubstep is not generally about those things so it was fun mixing it up.

Thanks for the review, SCTE3. :)
