Pretty nice

However as MetalJonus said it doesn't feel like you really put your soul into this as in your were not feeling completely enthusiastic about doing this piece. However I will say it is a wonderful cover of one of the more sadder pieces from the game. Have no idea why but that happened to be one of the areas I was never very good at and would spend a long time simply trying to beat the second part before getting to the boss.

The guitar her sounds very nice and I enjoy the soft blues feel it has. The bass line is very simple and provides a back bone for the beat. The drums sound pretty cajun but very good here so you did a pretty nice job all in all with this even if you did not give it your all.

Overall, nice cover.

Thanks for the honesty, I'll try to put more emotion in the next one.

Sounds wicked

I could see this making a very nice boss battle theme. Possibly a battle theme for having to fight someone who has betrayed you and they are the next to last boss in the game trying to stop you from moving forward which is quite evil of them indeed. Commence the battle, fight for justice!!

The synth here sounds great. I actually like the main part where it sounds like chord notes. The bass line is highly tense and I liked it. The drum line is basic but very good so you did a pretty good job there.

Overall, wicked boss battle beat.

That actually sounds like a good use for the music, right now it's just my generic boss theme. Drums are still giving me fits. Wicked... I like.

Dance/Rave

Tune feels like something that I would rave or dance to actually. Mostly because it has that classy synth line and the hard cutting bass that makes you feel on edge but awesome at the same time.

The synth sounds very up beat and high pitched which is awesome. Then a second one comes in and plays a lot of triplet notes in one long string of flying fury. The bass line adds simplicity to the song. The drums just sound simple yet spectacular. The synth sounds very awesome though. The whole beat coming together just makes you feel awesome.

Overall, great dance/rave beat.

Yeah looking back, it seems that it would be more fitting in the dance category. Thanks for tue review!

Good tune

Really loved the build up at the start. It started with a simple beat and then got quicker and louder until it became a quick and rapid beat. I would love to see someone use this as a boss song 100% because this sounds like something I would hear while fighting a boss in a video game whether it be an RPG, side scroller, beat'em up or what be you. It just makes for a great boss beat!!

The synths sound chipped yet awesome and I enjoy how they flowed here. The bass line and drums were great. Loved the main synth three notes repeating themselves, sounded kind of like a solo I think. The full tune coming together was great. I think you did a great job here.

Overall, awesome boss battle song.

PS: Kind of reminds me of Rikku from FFX for some reason.

Awesome! Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Earthbound

Not real sure why but the tune makes me think of Earthbound actually. Just in a very heavily remixed version kind of way. The piano/synth notes make me think of the two cutscene parts where it tells you what all you have done on your quest so far. The piano notes make me think of the boss battles and the dubstep wobble wah notes kind of make me think Paper Mario for some strange reason.

While the whole beat plays it kind of just sounds very interesting and neat to listen to which is pretty nice anyways. I think the whole beat playing would make a really cool boss battle tune for two bosses that had fused together and become an even bigger boss trying to take you out. This is a pretty cool piece anyways.

Overall, cool boss beat I suppose.

I dont think I have ever heard of earthbound before, but I might check it out now. Thank you for your review!

Somber bliss of Boundness

I have no honest idea why but this tune heavily makes me think of Earthbound's Moonside which was far beyond bizarre. As a dubstep tune it sounds a lot more different from almost anything else I have heard so far as well. I guess this would be considered a really light ambient/dubstep mixed tune right? If it is then that seems to be cool to me. Kind of makes me remember weird things from my past which is also cool I suppose.

The very long ambient string notes sound really nice here and they also feel quite relaxing as well. The drums have a really light rhythm to them as if trying to calm down the user and make them relaxed while the shorter and quicker ambient synth notes kind of take it up a notch and make you feel rushed at the same time too. No bass here I see, that or it is just very lightly going on in the background and I can not tell that it is there.

I hope this comes close to winning in that contest as well. This is a very nice beat, I think this one turned out well. Good work here.

Overall, light nostalgic bliss.

SineRider responds:

I actually just recently got into earthbound myself. I wouldn't say this was directly inspired by that, but the music has been floating around in my head ever since I played it.

Yeah this isn't a straight up dubstep tune. Well it's more inspired by the old dubstep sound and mixed with ambiance and maybe some post-rock. I've heard people call this genre Post-dubstep. Look it up for some more music like this.

Well there is bass, just not a wobble bass. Straight up sub-bass ;)

Thanks for the review :)

Nice memory

Was actually playing Super Mario World the other day and that tune always brings back memories, some good while others are bad. I remember how much fun the game used to be and still is. Always fun to see someone take the game and make a piece of art or a new game out of it which is always fascinating to watch and play.

The drums are very nostalgic. The heavy trumpet sounding instrument sounds very good yet light here. Acting as a bass line I see. The flute and trumpet sounds work together to make you know you are part of the way there to saving Peach once again... When the beat flows together it makes a nice little tune. Would love to see this used in a Mario flash game or flash.

Overall, great cover. Good times, good times.

Ironclover responds:

Thank you very much, I hope to see it used too! I played that Today as well. I just love the music and had to remake some of my favorite stuff :) Thanks for the review!

Very generic

I can see how this is generic since it starts out with that same drum beat as always in almost any dance song. Then you added in a light xylophone playing. Lastly you take it up a notch by lastly adding in bass and a synth line to make this song whole and complete. It sounds cool I guess.

Overall, generic and nothing more. :-(

My two "Generic Crappy <blank> Song" were experiments. I made songs just like I normally do and instead of leaving it at that, I said they were crappy and generic. Thus I noticed the review scores were much lower, but the normal score was normal.

From now on I will say my music is a work of art in the author comments and watch my review scores skyrocket :P
