Good remix

well not to surprised that this is a good boss battle remix. The castle was always fun but when I was younger castle (star)8-4 took me a bit longer than usual since goombas were replaced with buzzy beetles. Keep on making good tunes, I find them enjoyable as well.

Really like the trumpet and how it keeps getting high pitched as well. The drums provide a good backing beat which is good. The string instrument also sounds good so this turned good. The beat was very nicely done. Could see it being used in a battle scene for a movie too.

Overall, another good Mario remix.

Thank you so much for your amazing reviews as always. it just adds more to my music! I hope to see this and some of my other songs in someone's flash one day!

Sounds good

Like the wonky synth intro here. It gives off a good feel and then a chip tune synth comes in along with some drums to provide and lay down a beat. Then a third synth comes in and provides some good high pitched notes. Then the drum beat comes to a full motion and circle.

Nice use of layering the synths. The fifth synth was pretty cool too. Enjoyed the little hard drum kicks as well since they sounded quite nice too. When the beat is in full motion it sounds completely good. You did a good job on this one.

Overall, awesome techno beat.

megakill responds:

Hey, thanks for the review!

I'm really glad you liked it! I'll try to keep all my future work up to the same standard, or hopefully even better =P

Snazzy

Sounds a lot like the original piece but with a few more instruments that have been added to it to give it a more classical feel which is even better. It also loops perfectly so good work there too.

The bass line seems to provide a main beat which is a neat factor. The the xylophone gives that fun up sound bit to so it sounds like cotton candy in a way. Then there is the drums which provide the final piece. When the beat comes together it reminds me of how much fun Super Mario World was.

Overall, great remix, also could work as carnival music I think.

Ironclover responds:

Oh Thank you!! I am surprised to be review by you again. I just wanna personally say you are the best reviewer I have had on Newgrounds. You always decode the song down to little feelings. I am honored everytime I see that cat icon! So thank you very much for review. Also now that you mention it, It could be used as Carnival Music. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR REVIEW!!!

Wedding

I can truly see this being used in a wedding flash game actually. Sounds pretty cool as well so not too bad. I look forward to more songs from you if they all sound this light, fluffy, and nice. Good work here.

mrmcduts responds:

thanks!

Fight with a axe instead of gun

Or at least that is what Axe Cop does. You sound a little bit like Jimmy Pop from the Bloodhound Gang as well which is pretty cool I think. The way the song is composed is cool. Pretty smooth recording as well too so that was good.

The drums were good and changed between simple and a bit complex for the main chorus. The guitar was good here too and you did a good job of playing. The riff and playing sounded good and simple. The lyrics and vocals here were also good so nicely done tune here. The ending was good with the drum roll and slight change in guitar play.

Overall, great song, don't fight people wielding an axe. :D

RhythmBastard responds:

Thanks! I've been told I sound like Iggy Pop, but Jimmy Pop's a new one. You made me look up "The Bad Touch" again, at least.

Great!!

I like the flow of the tune that this beat provides. A whole lot of simple beats being put together can add up to being a very incredible end product so you were doing something right here as well which I am glad to see. I enjoy watching audio artists putting effort into music just like this little piece.

I can also vividly paint out a story kind of.

Having just come out of being cryogenically frozen over a 200 year period,, Jack awoke and found himself having powers and abilities he had never had before being frozen for self preservation. The scientists tried to control him and he ended up having to destroy some to escape. He soon turned into a chick and was unable to turn back. Jack soon ran in his new body to a local clothing shop and whimpered while asking for clothes. They give them to her free of charge.

She soon roamed the city wondering what was going on. She looked up at the billboards and saw she was to be the first in a line of superhuman females as well. She became a recluse and befriended a male of the same kind who played music. They became friends and protected each other. She soon found out she could give him some of her powers and so she did. They worked together to protect a crumbling futuristic world of catastrophes and people of evil intent.

End of story.

The bass line and drums here were great and I enjoyed them as well.

I think that overall this was a wonderful beat, great work on it. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more from you in the future as usual.

Omnivore responds:

Wow, thats an awesome story! You should keep that. Thanks for one of the most epic reviews I've read so far, it really gave me some inspiration! More songs should be coming soon I hope.. Thanks again!

Love does things

Such as making this awesome song happen! This is truly a good dance and love beat actually. So your girlfriend likes the house genre? I beat she enjoys chilling out, putting on some retro punk sunglasses, getting out rave sticks, and just having fun during the day and praising you for making music.

The ambient synth saw sounding notes are good and I liked those. The weird phaser kick notes were cool anyways even though I can't really tell what they were. The main drum kick and beat was rather smooth here and pleasingly played itself out in a good manner.

When the beat comes altogether I can see where it would be lovely like as well. This is a very nicely done love song for a girlfriend as well. The funky synth breakdown was awesome, that was cool.

Overall, great love tune.

Close, but usually my girlfriend puts on those Real3D shades with the lenses popped out, so more hipster than punk :P

And thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! :D

Good tune

At last a break from your dubsteps. You should stay away from it, already got plenty of people doing it but hey, do whatever kind of music you love to do. This beat is actually quite nice and I enjoyed it.

The long synth notes are nice. I enjoy how smaller synth notes play in between. The space build up effect used was a nice touch used here and I enjoyed how that went as well. The little echo explosion sound and glitching towards the end was pretty cool anyways, making it a bit sporadic I see.

The drums here were good and nice so you did a good job there anyways. The glitch sounds kind of make you weird out for a moment but I guess that is kind of funny. The bass line was simple and pleasing.

Overall, good tune.

EricFreeman responds:

haha, yeah, the dubstep's kinda fun to make, but I suck at it :3

I'm glad you like my little song here :) I was trying to go for an evolved Oregon Trail by mixing it with the glitchy techno stuff.

Thanks for listening!

Another remake

Wow, a second bike chase remake in the same day? AWESOME!! This version is also cool and I like how it brings the metal aspect to it. Gives off the feel as if you have no choice but to bike until you escape which he eventually does anyways. This is a great metal mix. Loving the guitars here.

The guitars are lively here and give off a feel of desperation as you ride the motorcycle to freedom. The drums are very incredible and rapid here. Lots of kicks going on and I seem to enjoy it well. The bass line was simple and barely audible but cool I suppose.

I will say that overall this ia great remix and tribute to an excellent game. Good job.

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

Well, the bass problem should be solved...kinda...sorta...whatever. Ehh. That's why I look for lots of songs that I can cover with my current amount of skill. Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce is almost done, all I need is vocals and drums. I can provide the latter, but the former I already called in a friend and he hasn't sent anything yet (must be real busy with, uh...God knows what, probably work or school or something).

I'm glad you liked it. Not too many people do metal for game songs, which is kinda disappointing. GaMetal is one of the few I know who does metal game songs, but I don't like his stuff. It doesn't sound right. At all.

Thanks for the review!

EDIT: Through the Fire and Flames is out now. Didn't get any vocals, so I used a Sytrus gold saw instead. I dare say it sounds pretty good, but nowhere near as good as the original. Although, now that I think about it, I'm...I dunno, four months late in saying this? lol

Interesting

This could certainly make for an interesting level beat actually. Maybe a creepy castle or really long dungeon level that changes a bit over time. This piece was very long but I found it to be rather calming as well which seems to be a good goal to have mind with some game level tunes, you don't want the player to always feel rushed, sometimes you want them relaxed so they can feel easy until they reach the end or area boss.

The synths here were very calming and I enjoyed how they kind of just took you on a trip through the caves of a game as you explore and search for answers or a villain/hero. The drums were very simple and brought bliss to the listener and helped them feel calm as well. The minor and yet long ambient notes i hear from time to time also make you feel good.

Overall, relaxing 8-bit tune.

ganon95 responds:

thanks :) yea i can see why you got the 8-bit feeling cuz its a remix of a game that has 8-bit styled music for its levels. the original was mostly ambient-ish minimalistic so i tried to work with something along that line.

this would actually sound good in a sidescroller that lasts exactly 10 minutes :P
