This was quite funny.

The lyrical style of Parry Gripp has always reminded me of Weird Al for some reason. Only difference being he has less of a squeaky voice than Al and tends to sound more forceful when he sings which makes me happy.

The animation was pretty good. The characters seem a bit boring looking and focuses more on facial expressions. I guess you drew in this style since drawing a full character, hair, clothes, details and all for more than a few frames takes more time than you want to be used right?

The vegetables looked pretty simple yet nice. I also enjoy vegetables but can't stand the taste of some vegetables such as beets or asparagus. Song kind of reminds me of an earlier song that someone else animated on here (Do You Like Waffles?). Nice to see that years later, people like you still enjoy animating his tunes.

The backgrounds were also good. Only really glaring issue I felt was with the brick wall for some reason. Not sure why but it felt slightly off to me for whatever reason. I can let it slide on animating the inside of his mouth since I imagine that would be putting in far more detail than what is really needed for a music video.

The audio is Parry Gripp, not much more needs to be said there. Kind of sad how he stopped doing "Song a Week" after a year. However, I imagine making a song every week was a lot of work.

Overall, very nicely done music video.

Yeah the brick wall was a bit of an issue for me, and thinking back I should have done something like no lines but different colours. Oh well. Thanks!

That was pretty funny. Very well done and nice use of sprites for making this animation. I look forward to more.

spritefan responds:

Thanks!

Good heavens that was awesome! Really hope to see more of these in the future. The animation was jsut perfect. Loved that little extra detail of the film having a slight tear in it near the ending. Very nice job. Nothing to do to really make the animation better. I just want to see more of these, excellent work!

animotionism responds:

Thank you! i will make more for sure i love making these!

Got to say, really love how this parodies Po Pi Po, almost right down to the dance that goes with it. Funny how Caitlyn just seems to be enjoying herself by dancing while advertising to buy sight wards. Really cute video. Only thing I feel could have been better is the dance itself. It almost feels like a frame or two is missing in the dance, that or I feel like the dance is slown down a bit. Just my opinion.

Overall, cute parody.

RetroSleep responds:

A few frames Huuh? Maybe, it's the first looping animation I have ever made so it might have needed something for a smoother loop that I missed. Thanks for the review I'll keep it in mind for future videos.

Did not see that ending coming but that this was quite hilarious. Nice to see you've improved your animating over time. Thought it was hilarious how after Elsa threw off the dress she looked like a blonde version of Kitana from Mortal Kombat. Looking forward to seeing what more humorous content you come out with in the future. Hilariously nice.

HogisLeDude responds:

Thanks man! ;D

Having played Earthbound before, I found this to be entirely hilarious. Really makes me think this is most likely what Ness himself saw as happening for a majority of the game given all the weird stuff he saw and dealt with in the game.

The animation was pretty good. The backgrounds seemed like they were tiled rather than really fitting in with the animation itself. Then showing the guy playing the game was sad since the graphics seemed to be of a slightly different quality than the rest of the animation. Had to compromise a bit to get this done on time?

The audio is entirely Earthbound except for the Hippie's voice. Would have been made humorous if he was holding a ruler while giving Ness the bag of drugs.

The story itself seems simple, forward, and humorous. Ness gets drugs without asking about the effects from the New Age Retro Hippie and suddenly goes on a weird mental adventure where he transforms leaving the player very much confused.

Overall, short and humorous. Could have done a bit more though.

Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you enjoyed. Aside from a bit of rushing to get it done I'm also sort of trying to find my style, hense why the animation seems to differ from scene to scene. Future projects will have no time contraints so expect a higher and more consistent quality to come.

This seemed to be alright but fell short of really entertaining. Glad to see other people enjoyed it though, I would say you have a good grasp on how to animate. I think this could have been much longer and more entertaining. Perhaps could have had it lead into a round two with someone saving Ken from Scorpion making it all more interesting.

The sprites are nice but I feel it would have been better had you been able to make either the Street Fighter sprites (if you could find them) be more Mortal Kombat looking or vice versa. The Midway arcade crushing Ken is a nice reference to the one Friendship victory from Mortal Kombat II. Not too sure why the screen starts to zoom out there though, any particular reason?

The music used was fitting. However, the title screen did not fit the animation and seemed grainy in regards to quality. Compressed to save space for the flash itself? The rest of the music played fit the animation just fine.

The background are Mortal Kombat related, very nice.

Overall, this is nice but... try to make sure music fits all the way for everything, try to make these longer and ever better, keep on practicing. Have fun with future sprite or non-sprite related animations.

SebzX12 responds:

Thanks for the headsup, and maybe soon I will finish the mk vs sf series that proxicide didn't accomplished!

This animation was wonderful and I like how there was use of frame by frame style animation mixed with the wonderful backgrounds and all. The one thing I really wanted to point off the bat is why not link to the Nightmare Night song used in this animation? Pretty sure WoodenToaster/GIaze has it on their soundcloud and youtue account. Now that I've said that, on to the rest of the review.

The animation is nice. I like the frame by frame usage like I said earlier. The pills fading out in his stomach and his face suddenly coming into existence is good. Seeing how his face is seen to not be visible unless he injects himself with a serum, I have to wonder, what causes this to happen to him? Is it a nightmare or dream like the rest of the story seems to be?

The story is interesting. He wakes up and just goes about his job and suddenly is able to make the world a happier place. However, he suddenly finds himself drained of happiness it seems by giving it to everyone else and sacrificing his own happiness as he returns to the nightmare he seems to be used to. Sad to see in the end, his life is apparently a nightmare, no matter what he does.

The audio was fitting and I liked how it smoothly transitioned from one tune to the next one. Just hearing the sound effects of a water faucet being turned on is good. However, if that got a sound with it, why didn't most of the other stuff?

Overall, good animation, aside from me nitpicking in regards to audio, this turned out to be very good. Have fun with future animations. :)

MihaP responds:

Thanks for the review! All the songs are from newgrounds and I always use Newgrounds for my source of music :)

Well, I think this was entertaining but I feel there were some slight flaws.

As far as animating goes, you did a great job for the most part. However, I noticed while Kim was swinging her hips, the skirt didn't really move with her hips or animate, her butt clearly is moving away from the skirt. Perhaps, however, you meant to create the illusion she was not wearing a skirt, if so then great effort there for that kind of joke.

I did feel kind of sad for her though since apparently no one wanted to dance with her and instead wanted to have sex with her rather than dancing at wherever it is that they are. In that regards, sympathy for Kim has been shown as she clearly just wants to dance and the guy is making her go into tears. I imagine her pink haired friend didn't want to dance with her either, tis a sad day for Kim.

Although later into the animation she's clearly shown having taken her top off or someone ripped it off and her covering her breasts and crying because no one is still willing to dance with her and still just wanting sex.

The audio itself was pretty catchy and kind of made me want to dance. The lip syncing for the animation to the song was good. Did not see any real errors while she was trying to enjoy dancing.

The lack of a background is kind of sad. Had a background been added then there could have been much more to this sad tragic tale of Kim, a lady who simply wants to dance with people. However, given the premise, I imagine their at a dance club of some sort and she's possibly trying too hard to get people dancing with her.

Overall, I think this was pretty entertaining, sad, and catchy all at the same time.

HogisLeDude responds:

I will certainly take notes. Thank you so much for this detailed review. It really helps me. =D

To be fair, I did find this humorous. Sadly it was way too short for my taste. While he was falling down the stairs you could have expanded on why it was making the sides of the building fall apart and then ultimately the building itself.

The graphics were nice and make me think of MistyEntertainment's art style but more cartoony. Maybe could add some voices if you ever revisit this piece with the employees being shocked at Gaben's bad behavior and maybe a mythology gag about how he can't seem to count to three and trips on the third step.

The sounds were fitting and kept this piece humorous. However, given it's really short there isn't much time to make full use of more funny sounds revolving around Gaben falling all the down.

Overall, this was pretty funny but at the same time a bit too short. Nicely done, nonetheless.
