Shows a slight bit of promise.

The animation looked a lot like it was drawn on paper, then scanned, and then colored in very quickly in MS paint. Some parts looked like looping .gifs which makes it a bit better. However during the main sequence(?) where it shows the characters(?) some parts flash by far too quickly to be looked at. Then towards the end where it shows the crowd it looks zoomed in and very sloppy.

The audio itself would be ok if subtitles were provided so viewers could understand what the song is saying. The voice work at the start could use some work too since the voices were very quiet. The slight static in the background is acceptable but the voices just seem far too quiet.

Overall, it's a start but you should practice drawing in flash so your future animations will look much cleaner. Same goes for voices, put something light over the microphone so it blocks out any static and popping sound you may pick up.

Thank for your opinion.
Take anyway a look at http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/605235.

I felt rather on the fence with this short animated loop. It could be funny if you find jokes involving scat funny at least. However, I do feel some things are missing which keeps this from being a much better piece than it could be.

First, there is no preloader or ending frame. Sure, it is a loop but I think a preloader would be nice so that it goes back to a frame and stops instead of playing over and over again. That or an ending frame would be nice as well showing you made this and if you found the sounds somewhere or made them yourself.

Second, no buildup. There was almost no buildup to Slenderman tripping on that squirrel's feces. Also if you took it a step farther it could have been more funny since Slenderman apparently does not walk (unless you happen to see him doing so in the DarkHarvest00 series). He could have looked down at the squirrel and devoured it or did something to it rather than tripping on the feces and punching the ground in a "not my kind of moment" way.

Third, no atmosphere. Sadly there was seemingly no background sound like a forest would have during the night or day time. That and since it seems Slenderman is walking forward at the start some audio distortion could have played up well here given that any time it is seen the video and audio always distorts.

Overall, it is a nice little loop but if you slow down and take more time working on this it could have been much, much better than it is. Have fun with future animations.

FunkMation responds:

thanks you for your honesty,

Another well done piece in the series. While a couple of things did seem a little off the animation was great for the most part.

The graphics were all sprites and I did not seem to see anything that was really made from scratch aside from the photo in Robbie's house as usual.

The story was nice in that Robbie could not trust Yoshi or Bubble so he has Mario's brother Luigi come over to babysit. However, instead of babysitting they seem to be causing him problems instead for the fun of it. Then at the end I suppose that even Luigi joined in on the shenanigans of destroying the home inside.

The music used was nice. I found a couple of them sounded as if they were either from Super Smash Bros or covers of a song from them. The ending credits being another anime closing theme was a good idea. Seems to make one feel really happy yet excited for the next entry in the series.

Overall, great work once more and the voice acting was terrific.

As you always you guys deliever on a honest review and i'm also very happy to hear that i've progress so far into the 6th episode. I honestly could not have done it without you guys support being fair and honest calling my faults and good parts as well as the Flash team i'm with Psycho Dino. I will be making more and while i gave up submitting here cause of the low scores i keep getting long as reviews like this and the one below this one "Hunteruid" shows that some people enjoy. I'll keep going until i'm satisfied. Thank you Guys Thank you alot

This looks to be rather promising, as a pilot I noticed it was six and a half minutes. How long do episodes plan to be?

The animation was very smooth. I enjoyed the backgrounds since it gives a nice background while the characters look slightly more cartoonish in design. The anime-esque behavior of the characters and how they were drawn though looks great. The swirly eyes and usual anime looks were quite nice. If anything, the only thing that seemed a little off in animation was when NINJA's eyes were swirled, his one cheek had the lines, while the other one did not which made me think his one eye might have been erased by error for a moment instead of it just being his cheek swelling a tad bit.

The background music was atmospheric and set the mood for the moment. The slight scare chord as NINJA suddenly noticed the #1 ninja (Gardner) giggle a bit was odd. It gave the feeling Gardner was going to attack him for a moment rather than inform him of the quest (Gardner most likely set up) leading him towards where the final match will be set.

The narrator voice left me with a question at the start though. Did Gardner become corrupted by the Wristband or was he already that way before obtaining it? Either way, him turning into a flower plant to seem invisible after giving NINJA the gem was funny.

Overall, this looks quite promising.

Thanks for the review!
Yes the pilot was six and half minutes. We are trying to keep each episode to about 4-5 minutes each. Makes them easily manageable.
This was our first venture in animation and we are blessed to have the response we have gotten.

This episode really was just set up for the rest of the show.
As for the anime-esque behaviors and tone, haha i feel we draw from our influences growing up and Anime was a big influence.

Once again thanks for the review!!!

Nice little trailer and promo for the upcoming finale to the trilogy. Gets one interested to see what will happen.

The music used was fitting and makes one wonder what shall be happening. The graphics are the same as usual, as such they don't need to be changed anyways since it all fits into one little saga.

The only downside that I didn't enjoy was that instead of going back to the menu, it went back to frame one where an ad would play every time sadly taking away from the fun of the trailer.

Overall, great promo, only problem is it goes to frame one instead of frame two where the menu is.

Celx-Requin responds:

That will be fixed in the proper release!
Thanks,

This was quite hilarious to watch and seeing it being a three for one flash was pretty nice.

The first part was interesting seeing as how starts randomly blew up and then there was a shooting star that went to another planet and blew up. Then we see a couple of stars fight each other on Earth for a moment before we see a technical difficulty screen.

Then it moves to a second skit where the Moon misses the Sun. The Sun is then shown destroying things with laser vision for no reason whatsoever. Then it destroys the Moon for more unknown reasons.

Then lastly it skips to just saying it would have been longer had a random angry mob not stormed into your house and told you to not make more educational stuff.

The art aside from the photographic backgrounds I saw only a couple of times looked pretty nice. Although I think at some point getting better at drawing eyes would be a good idea.

The audio for each of the three pieces was good with the last one being a sped up robotic voice.

Overall, quirky, fast, and random to say the least. Good work on this piece.

Very nice stuff and some of it kind make nice desktop backgrounds as well. The only concern here is aside from the Outtakes and Earlier sketch pieces is that there was no sound to be heard and the credits from Funny School Things R part 2 is used rather than just overall credits for this one.

Seeing earlier pieces that would have been done a bit differently was pretty nice and comparing the first Funny School Things to the second one it was nice seeing that your drawing improved over time which makes this look better.

Aside from it being some neat little outtakes, it's alright.

Aqlex responds:

Nice desktop backgrounds? I never really considered that xD. I do agree that a lot of the extras were fairly silent. When I did the extras for Funny School Things 2, I included an endlessly looping F-777 song, but I actually got a bit of feedback about that being annoying, so I decided to take out the endlessly looping song this time around. I guess I've got to find some other way to keep things interesting? Anyway, thanks for the review, it gave me some stuff to think about =).

I found this to be pretty funny since I can imagine some of it happening at the school I went to at least although the teachers were rather bland. So these are all based on true things that happened or just entirely word for word what happened during each skit?

The animation was pretty nice and I didn't seem to notice too much being wrong aside from all of the girls looking flat-chested despite being in high school. The one girl's panties looked pretty good although I feel the lines could have been a bit longer on the panties showing the outline of her rear a little better. Then the black guy changing to a shade of blue while the coach did nothing but stand there was pretty sad.

The audio was good although for the outside segment you could have added in light car sounds or wind in the background for it while having the bag on his head move a bit too. Some of the things said were pretty funny to say the least. Very entertaining too.

Overall, quite humorous and funny.

Aqlex responds:

It's tough for me to say whether these skits are based on true things or entirely word for word. In many cases, I sincerely tried to recreate what I remembered to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, many of these things happened years in the past (one of these happened in 4th grade), and memory has a way of slowly changing over time and not keeping a perfect record of the events that happened. Also, while trying to stay true to the events that happened, I often changed around small things for convenience, such as the placement of certain things or cutting down some of the situations to the best parts (keeping all the boring fluff would have just made it unbearably long and boring). I feel that no matter how closely I can try to replicate some of the situations, I'll have to say that they are ultimately based on truth as opposed to being THE truth.
On the animation side, I apologize for the flat-chestedness, that's just a failure in my art skills =P. The butt drawing was something I never even drew before, so I'm glad it came out decent. I do agree that there could have been some more background sound, and that is actually something that I originally meant to do but somehow entirely spaced out on (though it would have increased the filesize and possibly increased some lag during playback).
I'm glad you enjoyed the animation, and thanks for the review!

Well I found this to be rather long. If I remember correctly this sprite video is now tied with that one bizarre stick flash for longest videos on Newgrounds. Congratulations on doing that!

The story seemed rather weird since it starts with that guy in a tube who makes me think of Ness a bit being experimented on to fuse Pokemon and humans together as one. It succeeds but blasts him far off into a galaxy light years away where video games and animes are real. Makes think very interesting.

Once arriving "Marichu" meets Mary and she asks him to go to a scrapyard where the script suddenly feels like it was tossed to the side since Marichu suddenly has a lot of power and just blows the planet in half which renders the series null until the one director comes in and chews you out for doing so.

I do have to agree with him though, I was enjoying the plot of the video until the junkyard battle took place. Hopefully part 2 will still have battles but they won't consume so much time and take away from the plot.

The music heard was incredibly nice and diverse. The voice acting was also good, although for Mary, I kind of picture her with a bit lower pitched voice for some reason.

Overall, very interesting and looking forward to what part 2 brings to the series.

Pienkaito responds:

I hope, I didn't overwelm you with the lengthiness of the episode. But it seems that you still liked it.
Great summary you wrote there, but the female character is called "May" and not "Mary".

Part 2 will mainly focus on the story, so there won't be any action scenes. I'll also try my best to keep it short and limit the runtime a bit.

Thanks for the well-written review, which was expected from the RRC crew.

I feel that this could use a lot of work if you were to keep it going.

I noticed that the graphics seemed to be in bitmap format giving it that old style look as if playing an older game or something along those lines where the backgrounds would like like that while exploring. Also kind of makes me think of Resident Evil 2 and 3 backgrounds.

The choice in audio was great to fit with this. Then came the voice which sadly was completely monotone and which made the flash fall flat on delivery of what you were trying to convey.

The huge problem with this flash is even with lower quality to make it faster the audio and voice are quick to desync with the animation itself. I noticed past the first line delivered that the screen kept scrolling and the second screen was almost over before the next line came and going a little further in the audio and video go rather out of sync with the audio ending way before the video does.

I would suggest watching the flash yourself and seeing if changes need to be done. Either choose a longer song and speak without being monotone or speed up how quickly each area or scene is being shown to prevent it from going out of sync, that was pretty much the only thing ruining it for me.

Overall, while the backgrounds and such are nice, the audio desyncs after a few seconds.

DimanaTech responds:

Thank you for your review. It helps me understand how the style works and doesn't.
With your help I can deliver better projects in the future that people can enjoy.

I understand this has desync problems due to the techniques used including bitmap of the 3D models which could use a bit of CPU and RAM power. This is something that I am now aware of may have to transform such type animation done in this style into movie files instead.
Thank you for your review.
