Great Game

Have to say this turned out well although it takes a bit of time to get adjusted to moving the mouse fast enough to shoot everything on screen. I still found it rather fun and the game style heavily reminds me of duck hunt except they go up and down instead of just flying off the screen to nowhere at all.

The graphics were retro and rather amazing, not much else to say there. The music was nicely chosen and rather fitting as well so that goes well too.

The gameplay is rather fun but as I already said it simply takes a few tries and practice to get the hang of it really quick which turns out to go rather well in the end as well. Really fun and simple game play too. Shooting every last piece on screen helps you live longer.

Overall, great game, I guess being able to shoot while recharging would help a tad bit I guess.

Upgrade Complete!!

Well I at least completed upgrading after about forty-five minutes of game play anyways so that being said this is a nice time killer. The more you upgrade the smoother the game runs. Really took a while to beat it though, great piece of work though.

The game play was just simple here. Shoot, upgrade, repeat until you can buy the ending. The graphics kept getting smoother and smoother which was nice as well. No medals here but that did not take away from the fun of playing this game which was good.

The audio used was cool although you have to buy the music to hear it. The better the graphics there better the music which was ultimately fun to listen to and nice choices in tunes.

Overall ,a very fun game that also doubles as a good time waster.

Luck

I found this to be a great game but it like a few other jumping up platform games relies a lot on luck to try encouraging the player to keep going higher. I found that during some game play rounds that I would never once run into a health pack maybe more than once. In some cases I tended to get real lucky and get many power ups. During those rounds I tended to go up a lot faster as well.

The animation of this game is simply gray scale art and platforms that remind me of the lifts from Super Mario World that I used to play a lot when I was a lot younger.

The game play seemed to be simple which was jump up as far as possible whilst avoiding the green acid balls that reduce health. Along the way you can get bonus point balls, a super boost and some other power ups to help you go farther up in the game. Once you get level three and higher you have to start factoring in slippery platforms that require a bit of practice to land on without moving.

That and the acid ball shooters begin to appear more often making safety less and less of a factor and hoping to find a health pack more of a concern. However it is possible to go up very high without taking a single hit but it requires patience and the ability to wait for all the green acid balls to stop coming out for a moment so you can move up.

The music used was nice and helps you to calm down and relax as you jump up higher and higher just enjoying the feeling of sailing through the air like a eagle on a blimp. Really soothing and soft music though, did enjoy.

The medals are another nice aspect as they give you something to try and aim for as you get higher and higher in this simple game of luck. Some of the medals are hard to get while some are real easy to get which is good.

Overall, great game but mostly luck factored things. Fun time.

Good but sometimes impossible

Well this turned out to be a good game since you get to see a bit into Bob's normal daily life at the office of shipping things everyday. Strangely though the longer you play the more items you need to fill the boxes and sometimes you need to be able to click really fast to fill the box. Found it hard sometimes since the box would spin from time to time should I try to fit something in there.

The game play and concept seems to be simple which is to fill the boxes of every order that you get and screwing up or leaving things out will always cost you some cash but if you have a large amount and tend to be unable to fit one item in then it may be ok to leave something out from time to time to get all the orders done on time.

I found that the more I played that the more orders I had to do in constrained time limit. Sometimes I would find the level nearly impossible to complete due to the mystery box. It was a reference to tetris I know but sheesh, sometimes even after filling the box in every possible way it was just plain impossible to fit in that last mystery box since it came in a shape that was unable to fit in with everything else so I had to leave it out of the order just to get everything on time.

The music was alright and at least you can turn that and the sound off on this. That is one positive I found here while helping Bob fill his orders every day on the game. On a side note a choice in a couple of other songs would be nice to have here instead of just the same loop that may annoy some users. Do that and that would make it a bit better I think.

As for some game mechanics I find annoying is that from time to time you can NOT fill every box 100% of the time due to the random outcome of what shape the mystery box will be. To fix this a 4x4x4 box would be very helpful to the player so they could get all the orders filled. The ability to give Bob a different outfit after so many levels would also make this game a bit funner as well. That and maybe could have asked Bob to record his voice so you could possibly hear it after finishing the game or starting at the start of the game.

Another thing that would be nice and helpful here is a save button. This ways players do not have to start it all over again from the very start of the game when they quit or get frustrated and need a break before coming back to the game before trying to fill more orders into the boxes.

The medals were fun and easy to earn anyways so that was good here. Medals made the game fun for me anyways.

Overall, I find this to be a good game but could have there to make it more pleasurable for the player:
~ A 4x4x4 box
~ A | shaped mystery box
~ Save button
~ Maybe having Sherbert lay down some place in the room?
~ More choice in music

Good game even though later into the game the mystery boxes start to annoy you a lot...

Hilarious

Well this has got to be the most simple and straightforward RPG of all time. It simply cuts out all the fat of a normal game such as cut scenes and such and just has you press one button as opposed to pressing many buttons to do various things needed to be completed. Also hilarious how you added the generic "lol the next to last boss is your bro you never knew about" bit being added in as well, quite hilarious indeed I think.

The graphics were completely retro and very minimal detail into showing them doing anything. Funny how after one upgrade and sleep you have ultimate power and easily kill everything by not allowing them to attack. The final boss was so easy dude, he never stood a chance, heh. Good graphics though, makes you kind of think of one button games from the NES where you pressed one button the whole time to simply complete the game.

The voice acting here was quite solid and nicely done I think. The songs used were rather fitting and I liked the final boss song as well, it has an epic feel to it despite the final boss never really doing anything at all either so I liked that quite a bit too I think. The dialog spoken is little but very good I think.

I found this game mildly simple but great at the same time. I simply see it as a parody mockery of all RPGs in general as it simply cut out many, many things one would normally see in one and cuts literally to the heart and chase of things in this little short game piece I think which is funny to me anyways as I liked this a lot.

Overall, this game is a great parody mockery piece. Excellent work here even if it is a simple game having you just push one button a lot...

Good test

Although I generally shun test submissions in the portal mostly for being a waste of time and an easy blam point, there are an exceptional few of them that like this turn out rather well. I guess if you made it downloadable as some sort of computer app then you could be doing well since they could put it in the corner and have a better and smoother way of telling what time it currently was.

However this piece like most test submissions is missing quite a bit. I guess if you added a Newgrounds radio app and the ability to change the background color then this could be pretty cool anyways or if it was downloadable then have an invisible background I think.

Overall, pretty cool clock piece.

Thank you. I guess it probably should have been blammed. It's interesting you have said that as I personally made this my screensaver for my computer, which is nice with the colours changing and it telling the time as well.

Incredible game

Have to say though, the music makes it incredibly fun and makes you feel as if you could lose or win at a moment's whim as well, excellent. The game itself is still pretty fun though, I guess the only thing really missing is the ability to move and medals and it would be a perfect game that would be greatly addicting and fun. I guess a high score mode would also be nice to have as well.

The background was real simple and nice. The animation of the shapes having symbols on them was cool as well, at least they don't shoot at you which is nice and saves you a bit of health when you decide to upgrade as well. Very good shooter though.

The shooting of other shapes at first is rather tedious and you feel slow on some of the earlier levels but once you buy a bit of health and start stocking up for better weapons with higher power then the game begins to get a tad bit easier for you as you go along though. The bombs come in real handy when there are too many shapes closing in quickly as well.

The weapons are nice and I think my favorite was possibly the cluster gun since that thing pretty much wiped almost everything out within seconds of firing it too, awesome. Really good game though. I think if you considered adding medals and a high score system then this could be a perfectly fun and highly addicting little shooter game.

Overall, great game, just add some medals.

Thank you very much for this thorough review! I'm glad you liked the music, I've had a few people tell me it fitted well :) The cluster gun was always my favourite when I was playing it too! In my upcoming game (also a shooter) I'm going to have medals in it, hopefully making it a bit more fun, giving the player a goal to aim for. There are highscores built in, unless you mean a completely different game mode with a separate challenge

Good game

I like how once again we are back into the 8-bit realm where what you do was always limited in one way or another. The final boss was alright though. You just need to figure out when to jump to avoid taking less damage. Had you been able to duck then it would be possible to beat the boss without taking damage since when it shoots straight you are always hit no matter what.

The graphics are 8-bit, amazing!!

The game play was great and simple up until the elevator moment. I was doing well until I got to the three fast moving blocks. You needed near perfect timing just to get past them as well which meant you had to go exactly when they were going back up giving you just barely enough time to get past it. Everything else was smooth.

Nice choice in music!!

Overall, good Robot Day game.

thanks for your fantastic review and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Needs a lot of work

I find it sad that while it does have a basic premise of "survive and kill this many to beat game" it lacks a whole lot to this game in a lot of ways.

First is if you have a Newgrounds preloader there really shouldn't be some ad that plays for some reason. The game takes a very short time to load anyways. Then the buttons on the menu could possibly use work such as being smaller and a little less sloppy looking. Could possibly just have the text be the buttons actually, not too awful hard to do in flash even though coding takes awhile.

The lack of music is very bad or any sound at all for that matter. Could add some war music that plays while you are trying to survive against the 750 soldiers you need to kill in this games. Then while playing I think the sound of walking and gun shots would also be a nice addition to this game and make it slightly more entertaining to the audience.

The gameplay seems pretty simple since you can just hold either left or right and both together and just shoot in both directions as well. Although I only managed to survive up to 120 before I died. Adding some health packs that fall from time to time is also another thing to consider here.

Storyline is somewhat original and focuses on World War II which I suppose is interesting in this one.

Overall, just needs to have a lot of work done.

The ads are to help support me so I can afford the full version of Adobe Flash CS5.5 and make much higher-quality games (development time on this game was restricted by a 30-day free trial). Although even with them, plus revenue from both MochiMedia, and kongregate.com, I've still barely made any more than about $2.25 or so. When I can, I'm thinking about making a "Remastered Edition" with all graphics and gameplay elements updated-with sound, and an intro video, too!
