Rave Epicness

This has an excellent rave feel to it and when you turn it up it still sounds pretty awesome. You seem to have it all here as well, everything that one would need to make a great rave piece. All we need now is glow sticks so we can par-tay the night away along with glow in the dark clothes and makeup I suppose. Have to say though, really nice beat you got going on here.

The synth sounds really nice since I hear a few of them in there. One of them playing nice and fast triplet phase style notes while a second one plays longer ambient notes helping set the scenery for the song as well which is really sweet.

The bass line I hear in this one is quite nicely subtle and helps provide the backing area of the piece as well. I also hear build up and breakdown sounds incorporated into this piece too, not bad at all. Lastly you have the drums which provide the tune with the simple bass kick and hit for most of the part and this one has some unique sounds to it that I am digging as well.

Overall, very nice rave piece, sounds quite amazing, should use this at raves a lot too and watch them enjoy it.

Relaxing

Nice and relaxing beat as far as I am concerned. It kind of just makes you fellow pretty mellow and content as a kitty I think. The tune just seems to kind of have a Jazz feel to it as well.

The piano sounds really nice and pleasant here so that is completely good. The bass is soothing and helps carry the beat forward. The drums are a calm and mellow rhythm or harmony with the song, nice. the saxophone sounds pleasing.

Overall, good classy jazz like song.

You and your cats. :3
I was a bit worried about the sax, it sounds kind of pathetic by itself.
I guess it does work as jazz. I suck at genres. :P
Thanks for reviewing!

Carnies

This has a real feel for being carnival music as it just feels weird to me all the way around strangely. Also I hear a slight reference to James Brown is Dead when everything but the synth stops. Probably just me though.

The synth sounds really cool here along with being upbeat and positive and thankful on the playing. The drums have a pretty cool rhythm and change a couple of times which is nice to know. You really did swell.

Overall, cool carnival music.

Thank you, I'm glad you like this song. I put a lot of effort into this song so I'm glad it turned out so well. Also, I'm glad someone else agrees that it sounds like a perfect carnival song! Anyway, sorry this response can't be longer, but things have been a little hectic lately and I'm just checking in. Thanks for the review.

Greatly odd

I like the start. It kind of makes you think of rain hitting on trees and making the droplets bounce off the leaves and hitting the grass below. This piece kind of feels like an 80's beat set to some old sleuth movie or something like that.

The drums are soft and mellow here and calming. The bass line is quite smooth and seems to make this piece even calmer. The synths make this piece feel pretty moving as if you were walking in a forest and trying to find your way out of it as well.

Overall, good piece, also makes me think of the Chapter 2 music in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Thanks! Paper Mario, huh? That's a new one... Well, I tried to make it moving, as well as kind of calming.

I'd also like to say that this song will be worked on over the next few weeks, so I'll be reuploading the whole thing, only improved. A lot. Hope you enjoy that when it comes.

Thank you for the nice review!

Nicely done

It sounds really nice for a piano only song here, I do like this. It kind of feels like it was telling a small sad story showing a kid riding the bus. He gets to school and almost everyone treats him like crap and then he gets home and feels the same effect from his family as he hides away from society.

He hangs out with people who only pretend to like him hoping for entertainment as well. In the end they all abandon him and he moves far away from it. He hones his skills to being flexible, nimble, and able to knock out foes quickly. he lives alone for a long time before a girl comes and finds him two years later.

He would have been a senior this year but no one cared. For that one spark of a moment he feels happy to see the girl and she feels slightly happy to meet him. She takes him home with her, helps shave his face and body and gives him some of her clothes to wear until she gets paid and can buy him some clothes next month.

He shakes his head at the clothes she buys him and slowly begins to learn to speak again stating he had grown use to wearing only female clothes and that he did not care what people thought of his looks any more. They hug each other and he cries as he has a sibling and a friend for the first time in his life. They lay down that night in their separate beds in the same room.

Thoughts rush through his head of how life used to be. He looked at his long hair that went down to his nipples then over at his new sibling and friend and smiled before falling asleep.

Overall, very beautiful song.

Wowza that's quite some review.
Quite a tale you've spun there, an interesting one too.
Curiously enough.. I can relate to a lot of that.......... how uncanny.
I could quite easily edit a few bits here and there and it wouldn't be too far away from my own life story to some extent. ^_^

Thanks for the Review,
Glad you enjoyed the music. :)

Really serene

I really like the awkward composition of the drum and bass synth build up at the start. It just feels quite weird and then it picks up into a full beat that sounds rather calm and pleasing onto the ears in a way. The beat sounds like it would make great intro or credit music in my opinion as well. This just turned out to be a very well done piece.

The drums sound very nice here. They seem to carry about a rhythm of dipping down and then back up and continue to flow in this manner for almost all of the song which is great. When it stops it kind of makes you wonder what could be happening if this were in a video, does the drama stop or what? Very nice.

The synth sounds really nice and calming. I see you had a bass synth and piano playing in there as well. Alone they possibly sound great but when they all play together it just sounds a whole lot more beautiful and charming here. They just provide a rhythm that will just make you feel sort of strange but happy as well.

Lastly there are the vocals that were added into the mix. What is it saying at the very beginning? Sounds like it was trying to spell out a word. Then you have slightly electronic voices coming on and off for the rest of the song which sounds really great to me.

Overall, a very well composed piece, nice work here.

Glad you liked it. Like i said this isn't one of my prominent genres, so I was at a loss most of the time, but i tried my best to come up with something original and I'm glad to see it worked :D

The drums were particularly hard to compose since drums aren't my strong point, especially in a genre such as this, but it's good to see that you liked them.

At the very beginning, the male robot guy is saying Activate with a glitchy stutter. The rest of the vocals are alternating between "I'll be standing here alive" and "I'll be standing here broken" and titbits from either one. But glad to see that you liked the voices, i'm particularly proud of those :D

"Overall, a very well composed piece, nice work here."

Thanks for the awesome detailed review and the score :D

Nice wip

As far as I am concerned this sounds like a great WIP. Would love to hear what it is like when finished. This sounds pretty good, have fun on future projects.

pixelseph responds:

From what I can disclose, there are more guitars and instrument swaps in the finished product... ;D

Thank you for the review!

Bad times, good cover :-)

I have no idea but I could never truly stand the aqua levels in Donkey Kong Country, the music just creeped me out and made me think of Resident Evil if anything. However I will say you did a wonderful cover version here.

The bass is very soft yet heavy at the same time. The synths kind of creep me out here as well since they just have a real eerie effect to them in the game. The drums sound very simple yet calming here as well, nice.

Overall, good cover.

BallinFatty responds:

thanks. glad you enjoyed it. i didnt mind the waters levels, at least not in DKC. i've always liked the music too. really enchanting, if thats the right word... the ones in DKC3 were the ones i hated, but they too, had pretty awesome music.

the synths in the wasp section dont sound as good when you lower the pitch so much. the one that is used for bass was too soft, and couldnt be heard, so i had no other choice but to use the one i did. i need the full version of FL8...

anyways, im glad you enjoyed it. thanks for the review, 9, and your time in listening

Great remix

Heh, yes this does remind me of when I had some heavily annoying battles early on in the game since the nobodies were more annoying with their attack pattern as well. Really great remix though. The battle just reminds me of how annoying the start was but once you reach their castle they are not so hard any more as you are stronger. I still did not ever like the Xigbar battle, took forever.

Have to say though, really cool remix, captures the heart of things in the game, loved it.

DesoloZ responds:

lol agreed thanks man or lady lol _XD imma make more soon

Dance

I like how he always had an obsession for dancing. Sadly I prefer the song used in Colosseum instead actually since it was more fitting and made the battle feel so much faster as well. I still have to say though that you did a really fine job of doing a cover of his XD theme.

The trumpet is just victory up there I think. The bass line is also really groovy sounding here and I liked it. The drums were simple and quite nice to me in my eyes anyways.

Overall, really nice cover.

KatzuyaSagara responds:

Thanks man =)
I hope you continue to listen to my covers. It's such an honor to make music for you =)
