Classy distress

Sounds really good and I like how it has a bit of classical feel to it as if showing there is a lot of reason to worry as you keep on going to try defeating Eggman in his fortress in the sky. Very nice little loop. Has some nice sounds to it.

The synth is really smooth and gives that feel of being a bit hurried to find him and ruin his plans of destroying Mobius once more. The drums are very nice and quite quick which is great. I like how you used the piano to have a bass line for the song, adds for a nice classy touch to the song. The later synth that plays the high notes makes me think of Earthbound a bit too.

Overall, really nice little loop, sounds great.

Thanks for the review ^^
I'm actually quite happy with this one, cause I think it sounds good for being so old

Soft

Kind of sounds like something that would play on adult swim bumps actually. Just something soft, soothing, and really nice on the ears to listen to. Very nice little loop.

The drums have a soft rhythm to them. Then the synth has a echo effect to it that makes it really enjoyable. You do hear the loop clip every now and then but aside from that it sounds really nice.

Overall, nice little loop. Very soft.

Heya dude! It's been a while.
I was expecting zombies from your review, but I guess that's not the case here, isn't it? xDD
Yeah, it's a pretty lounge-y lil loop. And... clipping? That's weird, I can't hear it... hm...
Thanks!

Kitties

Song kind of just makes me think of kittens having fun and goofing off with each other as well. Very nice little diddly though. Has a soft playful feel to it like the boss was not meant to be taken too seriously either. Really nice piece of work though and rather enjoyable too.

The piano has a classy feel that makes you feel rather happy and joyful while watching the kittens. The drums are nice as well and have a soft beat going. The bass line was rather chilled out and fun to hear. The violin was also nice as it came in every now and then, really cheery. Excellent loop.

That xylophone was really nice and made you feel the kittens found something new and fun to play with while playing with each other.

Overall, great loop and remix of a battle song.

hah, what's with the kittens xd
It's nice to read your reviews, and you can see that you like making them
"Has a soft playful feel to it like the boss was not meant to be taken too seriously either." <-- Well, it's Gangplank Galleon from DKC1 that contains the boss ;)

Good remix

The startup is a bit long anyways building towards the sax but it still sounds pretty great and has a mix of jazz and trance right in there which works out rather well. Sounds like it could be some kind of light boss battle music at the same time too and I enjoy that a lot as well.

The sax sounds very close to the original with a bit of an echo and added funk to it. The drums were nice here and I like the simple rhythm they deliver to the rest of the song. I like how you had some galloping synth sounds in there along with the synth playing alongside it giving that feel that this is possibly live.

The bass here was also fantastic, great work there. The buildup once more at the two minute mark was just great too and I liked it as well. Very nice work there.

Overall, fantastic piece of work. Really enjoyable. :-)

Good review for a bored song, lol.

Thx man ^^

Dark and pumped

Really like that feel here it has of being that you are in the forest and hearing a lot of unique things but unsure of what they all are. Very unique feel to the song however. Gives that feel of just enjoying the forest slightly despite being unaware of what to do there at the same time. Very nice trance song.

The synth has a great feel and enjoy when it is alone later like a filly or unicorn would be while still believing myths and not noticing that clouds still need a pegasus to move them as well. The synth has a good quality to it and the sharp twang and echo work well together too.

The bass works its way up and gives that feel of something being there but you have no idea where it might pop out at you from either. The drums have a good simple rhythm and a slight reverse sound at times that I enjoy too, very nicely done beat however.

Overall, great work on this, turned out terrific!

coleknows responds:

Exactly the feel i was aiming for. I was aiming for something like a lost filly looking for some ancient creature or place. On his way, he/she encounters mysterious spirits that tell more of the secrets or the forest. As the song progresses, the deeper and more dangerous that filly goes to the point of no return.

Sounds calming

I like the idea of this song. It has a calm feel as if we were watching a battle that had ended and then we see the people walking away carrying and holding each other up as they see the body of the boss behind them and move on trying to think of how to make it all better in the end while the boss's boss plans to destroy the planet without his minion's help. Great beat.

The orchestra here sounds very calming and I love how the flute seems to move you a little bit to the happy side as the beat moves and carries itself. The light use of tribal drums here was really great in my opinion giving that feel of making them all the better.

The dark sounding instrument was nice but what was it? The harp was also nice to hear. Very nice.

Overall ,great song, sounds very happy.

The ominous tone you hear at the beginning is a trick first pioneered by Mahler in his First Symphony- "Titan". It consists of a violin section playing a harmonic (note up an octave due to finger position) and a double-bass playing a low unison of that note... about 4 or 5 octaves apart. It creates one of the best musical devices I've ever heard and I really wanted to incorporate the basic idea, but build on it with a new style (i.e. what you hear at 1:00).

If you've listened to a lot of my other pieces, you've probably noticed I'm a stickler for the full orchestral treatment... bass drum, snare, chimes, cymbals. Here I chose a simplified treatment and replaced the snare and bass combo with a basic 'tribal drum' as more of an experimental aspect and once again to fit into the literal crucible of music of that era, at least a little bit.

Quirky

OK so what did you use here to get this corny sounding piece anyways? I like how funny it sounds for the most part, could be used for a comedy piece I think. Also makes me think of the Runaway Five or DCMC from Earthbound and Mother 3 respectively. Very nice song though, has a slight battle feel to it too.

The bass was all over the place and had a great feel to it too. The xylophone sounded rather awesome and it sounds like you were doing the solo at a 1/32 note pace per second rate. The drums sound simple and I like the roll overs you had going too. Very funky and slightly funk feeling song.

Overall, great and funny song, sounds a tiny bit like Funk to me.

Now what kind of a battle would that be? But... when I think about earthbound, I guess everything is possible. The xylpphone is done in 1/32 and 1/32 triplets. I think when I did this (a couple of years ago) I was under a strong influence by Zappa and his xylophone antics, masterfully performed by Ruth Underwood. I still love that instrument.

Thanks for the review! *hug*

Amazing

The vocals make this all worth listening to I think. Kind of sounds like Weebl actually, how incredibly odd. The song does make you feel like dancing though and has a great beat to it that I can just simply enjoy hearing too. Great piece of work though. So how did that contest go?

The drums here were furious and great sounding. What was the drums layout for this one anyways? The bass was nice and had a slight bounce in it too. The synth sounded incredibly nice and made you feel rather happy hearing the song too which was great. The vocals were nicely added in too. I liked the xylophone sounds I heard too.

Overall, great, classy, and fun to hear.

Creatively odd

Well the start gave a feel of feeling a bit sluggish and just giving up on life a bit for the night as the alcohol overtakes you and you can't stand up without help from some friends either. Very interesting though.

The synth has a very nice and calm feel and kind of feels a bit retro as well. Then the second synth sounds like it had a guitar distortion applied to it a bit for a guitar sound. The bass is nice and thick as it seems to be light to the feel and gives a feel like you had a really bad headache as you awake the next morning.

The drums remain calm but what drum sounds did you use anyways? They sound like they flowed well together. The vocals are cool though, Are they from a commercial or something showing the terrible effects of some drinks?

Overall, this was an interesting piece to listen to.

Sorry for the late reply! Same goes for any other reviewers. I love the review request club, you guys are awesome!

Yeah, I agree with you- it's definitely got that "headache-in-the-morning" feel. The drums I used for this song were these free "drumsamples.org" drums I found, but I did a lot of layering and stuff to try get the sounds right. I got 5 different snares and layered them together, each one being a different frequency, and I did the same for the kick. And I compressed both.

The vocals all come from me- recorded into my laptop's crappy mic. Hahaha, they probably could be in an anti-drinking ad though, yeah.

Thanks for the review man.

Great work

Really like the upbeat feeling that this one lays out to you as you hear it and enjoy it as well. The song gives you that joy of just knowing there is a next time that the person will possibly see you, you may not recognize each other but it will be alright as long as the memories of the good times never fade. Great work and very nice remix. Soothing on the ears.
