Awesome

This is a pretty nice sounding rave song and I like it a lot. The way it all just comes together is also very brilliant as well. The voices you added were a great idea for this so cool job there as well.

The synths and synth bass sound pretty awesome to me. The drums and bass were also good. I like how the beat flows together and just motivates the listener to listen and dance at the same time as well. You have made a marvelous rave and dance song. Excellent work.

Overall, freaking awesome and amazing!!

Thanks! glad you liked it :D

Sounds alright

I really like the song but I do not see anything special or awesome happening here sadly. Kind of has an ambient anime feel to it I guess. The beat seems to be kind of slow, slightly off tempo and just kind of boring sadly.

The synth has a decent rhythm going for it anyways. The keyboard sounds pretty nice and pretty much the only awesome or cool thing I actually liked here. The drums were alright. The bass seemed to be alright.

Overall, not very interesting sadly. Would be cool if you made it speed up and turn into a rave some or something along those lines. Sorry that this is not your best piece. Good luck on future beats though.

Thanks for the review i appreciate it! Surprising you should say that, I was disappointed I could use my melodies near the end more so I'm making a second part that's way faster and ravish but will somewhat sound the same, hopefully you enjoy that one more. Either way thanks again for the review!

Funky Down

This has a creepy mansion feel to it actually. The static and lyrics are also pretty cool to add as it becomes retro sounding for most of the song. The lyrics have a good chime to them actually. The vocals are very good too.

The drums sound pretty nice. Really liking how the bass flows in a creepy manner relative to the beat. The synth and vocals just bring the whole song togehter though so that is great though.

I have to say that overall you did a pretty good job here.

SoulSecure responds:

Now, for me to reveal the secret behind the drums... There are absolutely no drums contained within this song. The percussion track was made (in chronological order relative to the beat) with a fork scratching a plate, laying the fork down gently onto the plate, a cup being hit against my Yamaha PSR-510, a pill bottle being shaken, a spoon striking the lid of the pill bottle twice and then once on a box, and the last thing (obviously) is the cup on the keyboard again. Of course, I took this dope beat and put effects and shit on it, most notably distortion.

Pretty wicked, right?

Wizard Opera

Have no idea why but wow is this a good song honestly. You just give a great feel as if the listener was doing something epic. Also heavily reminds me of Kingdom Hearts as well for some strange reason. The way it flows from start to finish is just really nice and pleasing to the ears.

The synth and secondary synth just seem to bring the song to life. The bass provides a strangely funky line. Liked the Japanese sounding part as well. The drums keep the song alive and breathing the whole way.

Overall, great job.

EricFreeman responds:

Haha, I love your reviews. Oddly enough, I've never played Kingdom of Hearts, lol.

But thanks for listening to it and liking it! The Japanese part was actually added in because I couldn't think of what else to do. That's why the song is titled "I Ran (Out of Ideas)". I had no idea what to do next and the song took forever to make, lol.

Also, sweet, eight out of the past 9 reviews have been 10/10! :3

Nicely done

It has a really chilled out and mellow feel to it actually. Sounds very blissful.

The keytar and synth make this sound very beautiful as well. Almost as if just drawing in the listener. The drums and bass provide a sutle backbone and make the song peaceful to enjoy.

I kind of get an image of roaming through a park while holding a parasol and just enjoying the view in the place I have never been to.

Overall, great work.

Remaining

Somewhat makes me think of some metal bands put together. Your vocals are quite amazing as well so cool work there with that. I still need to brush up on my vocals as they aren't truly metal singing worthy yet.

The guitar riff is very nice as well. Sounds a bit like what I play too. The bass and drums give the song the full feeling as well. The lyrics are very nicely done and are more than just a story in itself. Would love to see your band or maybe just you going on tour.

Overall, excellent piece of music.

Ah, thank you very much for the review! Always nice to hear from the RRC :) Hopefully once the album is finished we'll be able to start touring. Hope to see you soon!

Feeling the locust

It actually sounds kind of like a swarm of locust and creepy at the same time. Almost as if there were backmasking going on at the same time. Also the locust sound kind of takes away from the main beat sadly so I can't truly give you the best of reviews on this either.

I hear some slight backmasking, locust which sound like static and some drums. This has to be one of the weirdest pieces I have seen so far. The only truly good part where I could get the idea of how the song was going was at the end where the locust/static sound got cut off before the end.

Overall, kind of weird.

P.S. Reminds me of Silent Hill.

SoulSecure responds:

Well what the "locust" sound is, is actually me playing two harmonized tracks of sanshin. I got it to sound like that my putting a fuck load of Gverb on it and reversing it. Now it sounds like some bowed instruments.

About the beat and the sanshin: Since this is an experimental/noise piece, I really started out with the sanshin because, originally, it was going to be the main riff for an oriental song called Lotus Fuck that I never finished (lol), so the "drums" were adlibbed into it and put on repeat. When you say that the parts are clashing you probably mean that they are off beat from each other, this was done on purpose because I like doing things off beat and off tempo as an artistic expression (in fact, I don't think any of the songs on that album go to a specified beat besides what I thought sounded nice and frequency measures).

I don't remember what backmasking is right now but I'll get back to that some other time. EDIT: Oh yeah duh, I remember know. Yeah there's backmasking on the sanshin parts and saz part.

The "drums": The percussion part of this song is a really cool in that I didn't use a percussion instrument. I took my baglama saz, tuned the whole thing to D and rapped on and struck it with my fingers and bottom half of my palm, that way when the instrument is struck, the strings resonate sympathetically and give it a unique character. I also used a lot of Gverb on this to give it that really different timbre. You only hear it for a little while toward the end but, in the original version, my D tuned saz is played, solo until the end of the song.

Influences: Well, it's a good thing that it sounds like Silent Hill since it's going in a Silent Hill fan game! When I made the song I was thinking of Silent Hill (which is one of my general influences), Turok 2 (with the Mantids and their Hive level being a factor in imagery) and Gears of War.

When I upload the original, I'll PM you.

Great work

I found this to be rather cool and I can see it being used as a song for a stage where you must escape something horrible from happening. The music is actually quite chill and I like the keytar that was playing, it was pretty sweet.

The overall beat though is quite good and enjoyable though. The bass and drums provide the backbone and make this song get a lift off of the ground as it rockets to being dark and sinister. The synths and keytar just happen to complete the song and make it even better.

Overall, you did an amazing job on this song, good luck in the future.

Wow, thanks very much! I didn't expect to get feedback this good on this song :D

Pretty

This song sounded pretty nice actually. It has a nice build up but I am slightly disappointed that nothing ever happened to make people excited after the build up. Had you made a effort to make it awesome as it built up then this could have been far more better as well.

The flute and piano just work together to put together a very nice beat though. The piano softly and kindly starts to work up and then the flute joins in and makes it happy. However the only other sad part here is that at the end you didn't add a flute or anything sadly.

Overall, it tells a nice story but it seems lacking in climax and ending. Nicew work though.

TSH the whole way

You have some nice rhymes and combacks but TehSlapHappy could top them all day long until you made up some random word that makes no sense. Notice how the difference between you and him is that he is louder and spits them our rapidly. You on the other hand sound a bit silenter and I can hear a pop hear and there as well.

The backbeat is a very good though. The little sounds that play are good and this tune actually sounds good the full nine yards as well.

As for the rap battle itself. TehSlapHappy has you beat. Good luck in future battles.

Random word that makes no sense? Lol thanks for your vote!
