Somber and sad

I like how this piece goes kind of. It sounds like something you would hear in a heartbreaking movie like a man having to leave his best friend behind ( a cat) because they are going off to a college and they do not accept pets. He tries to fit in and act casual but he looks out his window a few weekends later and feels alone doing so. Soon they start to act as themselves rather than chasing dreams of others and some people like that and befriend them. They become good college buddies and try to help each other out in situations when they can.

The piano kind of emphasizes sadness in this piece. The chorus is very light and also slightly makes you feel sad as well. The tune makes you feel as if you were about to leave someone you cared about a lot behind for better or worse. Very sad piece.

Overall, sad and tearful piece of music. Beautiful work.

It is kind of melancholic.

Cartton like

Kind of makes you think of a cartoon. The piano at the start had a moment where it sounded like a Who song too. This sounds like something playing to an old and funny cartoon piece as well.

The piano plays extremely fast, wonder how chaotic it could have sounded if you tried that Carnival song approach which would require two extremely fast piano players to play. The tune kind of moves around as if it was two characters chasing each other around.

Overall, cool cartoon song feel.

Right now i must have around 200 - 500 songs i have made and recorded. Acctualy I had no idea newgrounds was such a far of electronic, and I feel it lacks some feel. not saying that I provide that, my 4 votes show otherwise, but I want a place to put my songs, so I need to recreate them one by one and upload them. this one however was random

Crazy

First thing is wow is this a very long and cool trance piece you worked on! The way the beat goes is very slick and dynamic with how it runs all the way to the end. It controls and keeps a very fast pace the whole way as well.

The synth sounds like it was prerecorded and then the tempo of it was sped up to give it a faster and more furious feel to it. The drums sound incredibly vast and awesome on this one as well. It's as if they were just there to kick ass. The vocals used on this were cool as well.

At some parts the synth kind of makes me think of Luigi wheezing humorously enough. The breakdown was pretty cool anyways. The slight and subtle use of bass here gives the song a highly dynamic feel as well.

Overall, fast, speedy, and awesome!! Would be cool for a fast paced boss battle.

Thanks man!

Haha yeah, I sped up the samples to fit the tempo of 165bpm, and yeah, the drums are there to make the track sound more badass!

Lol what? Haha thanks.

Alright

I think you were a little heavy with the bass though. Bass should always be lighter and in the background giving emphasis to the main instruments at play while providing a deep feeling backing to them.

The bass is just about the only thing here that needs to be made lighter. The synth actually sounds pretty good and has a good consistency of providing a decent beat on its own I think. I like how thunder-like the drums sound when they pop in here as well.

Overall, just lighten up on the bass.

Cool rock song

Like how it starts with a feel of it being some classical chorus piece as well. The chorus and piano are very nicely worked. The tune sounds like it would be part of an epic fight movie where the next to last battle starts.

The guitar here sounds really nice but what effect is that? The delay effect? IF so then nice!! The drums are very light and pretty swell here as they move along and cause great gladness to swell inside as one delivers the final blow I think. The tone is just really sick and I like how this one turned out.

Overall, completely fitting title. :P

EagleGuard responds:

The lead guitar uses a delay and a bit of reverb. I just used the standard VST's that shipped with Sonar 8, which means they are a little basic (though they do the trick, I guess).

Anyway, glad you liked it and thanks for the review ^^

Not bad

I notice the first and only thing in here that needs to be removed is the ringing at the start, it's kind of just like an extra thing slapped in at the last moment as a filler really. The tune itself is pretty cool though.

The ringing is just what I consider to be a filler content piece to make the song sound a bit better I guess. The drums are cool and give a nice space feeling to it as well. The synth has a dark yet strangely twisted feel to it, kind of sounds a bit like GLaDOS beginning to talk as well strangely. The whole tune together comes together as a great and cool piece for a science like game I suppose.

Overall, not bad, just remove ringing.

Dark and gloomy

Heh, I like how this tune goes actually. It is almost as it starts out you begin to question things and as things go along you begin to lose any and all sanity and end up in a straight jacket out of fear of what might happen if you don't.

The trumpets give a dark twisted taste to this song and cause you to feel odd. The drums are very light and funny as if trying to add in some slapstick to the mix to screw with you. The dark quick breathing sound hear from time to time make you feel odd.

Enjoyed when it turned completely electro since that sounds like something straight out of Portal actually along with the weird dark screech like sounds that come in later.

Then everything goes back to average for a moment as you try to remember who and where you are but you don't even know in the slightest anymore and your sanity is almost completely gone.

Overall, good song about sanity.

Birdinator99 responds:

lol, that last sentence made my day. I'm glad it worked for you!

Odd is a weird thing to feel when listening to a song in my opinion, but I suppose it's appropriate here.

FUN FACT: I did not use trumpets! Say what?!?!

Must be the strings or something -- I really don't know.

Also, being compared to Portal is neat; I love those games.

Thanks for the review!

Nice ambience

Well I like how this one rolls really. Has a good feel for some kind of RPG game where you explore an old abandoned facility or possibly a jungle where you try to find out why some of the things where you are have been going haywire lately and causing many horrible things to happen to people.

The drums roll up and in very nicely and keep a decent descent into madness from happening. The piano leaves in a good piece of possible sorrow and mystery into the song. The trumpet sound near end kind of makes you think something big is getting ready to go down too!!

Overall, cool loop.

What no animal resemblance? I kinda was looking forward to that :P

Anyway, thanks for the review, I appreciate it :)

Boss battle

I have no idea why but this makes rather fitting boss music in a good eerie toned way as well. The tone of the song seems to be dark, desperation, and a last chance to kill off an enemy who has been trying to kill you since the start of the game.

The chorus is actually quite nice when combined with the organ for a dark feeling in the boss battle that gives you a spine chilled feel. The synth sounds great here and very speedy within the boss fight itself. The drums kind of don't roll in the best fashion either.

I think in my opinion that the drums would sound a bit better if slowed down a bit and given a more dramatic taste as in it just plays at a given tempo and the drum sounds come from time to time to scare or creep out the player.

Overall, cool boss song.

MeteorManMike responds:

Drums... I really need to work on my drums...
I'm glad you think the organ was a nice touch, I'd been working on that particular instrument for quite a while, making it sound just right.
This is the battle theme for the guy that's been following you, watching your every move... as far as you can tell... O_o
Thanks for reviewing! I'll maybe do some more work on this one in a while.

Great remix

Heh, I think this is possibly the most covered song but I like this trance like remake of it, rather charming really. I could see this going with the original boss battle but with strobe lights in the background instead.
