Best remake so far

However not my favorite since when you look up any kind of Mario game almost all of them have a variation of this one in there some place, oh well. Really like how this remix works out, it turns from dark and gloomy to dark and sinister.

The guitar is great and I like how you get those extra effects by mixing in those synths a tiny bit as well. Crazy solo is amazing. I like the smooth bass line at work as well, just completely great and well composed as always. The drums are great and sound really cool here.

Overall, great remake.

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks! I did'nt want to be like everyone else and keep it the same musically. My remixes are'nt known for that. The synths are cool imo luckily I have an awesome gf who is going to get me a midi controller for my bday!

Lovely

Love how you used my favorite of The Shining as the intro, brilliant and amazing to me. Then the brutal drum kicks come in and make it all go away as she relaxes with him. Great vocals as usual, sounds awesome. If I weren't so skittish and shy I would probably spend a lot of time recording vocals along with playing guitar more often. :C

The guitar sounds bloody amazing and just completely kicking you in the teeth. Awesome!! The bass is very smooth and makes the guitar and vocals sound louder which is always good. The drums just keep coming at you with the brutality of love put into them.

Overall, going to love watching you guys if you ever get to go on tour somewhere.

AbsenceofFear responds:

Thanks! I love the shining and this song fit is perfectly! Don't be shy mang record some shit with vocals and post it!

Shit is cash

All I got to say is this is quite mind boggling and wonderfully insane. The tune makes you really want to headbang. The vocals sound quite unreal as well. Sounds like growling mixed with rough singing which makes it sound all the more better to me.

The guitar in play is quite awesome is all I got to say for you. It sounds quite awesome and played out more than amazingly here. The bass is furious and deep, listening in close enough it can be heard which is always good to know. Lastly I love the freaking drums, the double kicks are great. Also kind of makes you laugh a bit since playing a double bass always makes you look like yo uare running. Always a great workout though right?

Overall, \m/ (-_-)\m/

AbsenceofFear responds:

Thanks dude! We worked hard to make everything perfect and I agree double bass is pretty much running in place lol jk. Thanks again!

Rainbows

Such good times were had trying to beat that course. No matter what console version of this track you play it was always dangerous as they were no guards stopping you from falling off. Also in the final chapter on F-Zero GX there is a track called Rainbow Road that is hard as well.

The piano sounded very clean and soft here so that was quite relaxing to my ears. The synth sounded pretty cool holding a rhythm and sounding a bit like a guitar. Bass line here was snazzy and pretty keen. The drums were last and help make this a full beat.

Overall, really nice tune. Good times from that game too.

VGSongbird responds:

Lol thank you. ^_^ You always seem to really listen to the music and review it accordingly. I will get a 10 out of you someday ;) lol
Thank you, seriously.

Soft <3

This is a really cute loop in my opinion. It just sounds like it was something that would play while a cat cuddles up to the owner and falls asleep on their lap and has a pleasant dream while the person smiles and pets the cat sitting on their lap swinging its tail.

The xylophone I hear sounds really good and pretty darn cute on this once. The tone of the piece seems to stay up and cheery as well. I have to say though, I like how this loops without the second added on that prevents most loops from sounding nice. :C

Overall, cute loop.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Yeah, the cheery, more light hearted type sound isn't something I do very often, but it's a nice change of pace once in a while.
And that is actually a Celeste (Sort of a giant music box that looks like a piano), not a xylophone.

I've been doing a lot more loops lately, as I've gotten a lot of PMs from people telling me how they've fallen asleep to my piano/music box loops, or they turn on one of my loops to keep them focused while studying and the like. And I'm glad to hear people find such uses for my music.

Awesome

The intro sounds very dynamic as if it were a soft battle theme of sorts and then begins to pick up and get a bit heavier in taste and sound which was quite nice to hear on this one once more as always.

The guitar sounds really great. At first it is soft and then begins to pick up and get heavy which was sweet in my opinion. The drums sound really great here and play out a great beat that I really did enjoy once more.

Overall, really great taste of metal. <3 <3

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I'm actually in the process of tweaking my guitar tone once more, a new clean tone, a lead tone, and a few tweaks to my rhythm tone are all on my to do list... I can't say whether or not these tweaks will be made before my next upload, but I do have changes I want to make.

And again, glad you liked it, thanks for the review.

Another cool K-ON cover

Without vocals as usual. :P

Still though I think this still sounds extremely well done for a cover once more. That and the anime is still cool. Enjoyed watching their teacher freaks out with the Les Paul at one point too. Really good cover.

The guitar sounds very good and hits all the high notes along. One part kind of sounded like a snippet reference to the DearS intro tune called "Love Slave", nice. The bass line is very smooth and calming to me. The drums were also very cool.

Overall, I still love your music, it always sounds great.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I've seen DearS, but I can't say the show was particularly memorable to me, and as I said, I kind of cheated the bass part a little, I'm not a regular bass player, so I cut out a few runs to make it more manageable for me, most noticeably in the chorus.

But I'm glad you enjoy my stuff, thanks for the review.

Kind

This is a great cover. Love how you did not translate it, should make a second version with it translated so users can understand if they don't like trying to translate Japanese at all. Really cool song though.

The guitar sounds really nice and I liked it. The bass is very simple and nice to hear. The drums make this a very nice piece to hear. The vocals are really cool, nice work in that area.

Overall, neat.

Yay for fun times

Reminds me of how fun that game always was and will be too. Really brilliant cover. I think the only thing possibly missing is that little reverse sound you hear in the tune that pops in from time to time.

Really like how you used two guitars. One playing a main rhythm and the other acting as a lead and playing some beautiful solos that capture the imagery of the route and that freaking Sudowoodo who took forever to get.

The bass here sounds awesome as well. It just plays a smooth rhythm and almost like the bass line from that area in the game. The drums are the last piece and sound quite awesome.

Overall, awesome cover, loved it.

Maelstromrealm responds:

Thanks! I had composed this remix a while ago (the drums were recently redone though), the new sound engine of guitar pro 6 really makes for some nice sounding samples.

Kind of weird

Hey, um, ok, nah, just kidding. No but seriously, this piece makes me sound and feel weird. Also really makes me think of Resident Evil 2 and 3 actually. It is a very well composed piece so you did a really nice job on it.

The ambient synth notes being hit are very soft and kind of make you think something dramatic is happening. The the creepy reverse sound of what appears to be a dropping item make this just feel pretty creepy to me. It makes the piece good though.

The drums sound really light and have a nice filter effect placed on them as well so that was actually pretty good for me. I think this piece just really talks for itself for most of it as it makes you feel weird.

Overall, greatly creepy thinking piece.

KKSlider60 responds:

I love reading the various interpretations about my tracks. One could feel completely chilled after hearing this, another could feel unsettled and disturbed. I tell you, I think most people fear their own subconscious, but once you overcome this barrier, it'll become easier to discover and understand yourself.

Thanks for your review and analysis as always,
KKS
