Calming

This one sounds very calm yet amazing at the same time as well. Like how it kind of has that weird effect like you were playing a very bizarre stage in a video game that made little to no sense at all even as you progress farther into the battle.

The synth sounds incredible. I like how fast the drum track is here as well. It just sounds completely awesome. The chorus is like cherries on top here as well. The awkward main area is kind of wacky yet awesome. The bass line is very calm while all else is making a beautiful sound. The digital 8-bit sound is the last piece of this fine song as well.

Overall, insanely well done beat. Would love to see it used in a game of some kind.

Thanks so much! And I agree, I'd love for this to be used in a video game as well, heh However, until then, I guess the NG member ABRYZ is going to do some rap vocals over it so we can look forward to that.

Thanks for listening and reviewing! :D

Really awesome

Let me start off by saying that when I heard the beta version I never imagined it would just end up sounding this incredible in the end actually. I think you did quite a mind bogglingly good job of putting together a video game song. Nice to hear long and calmly put together original video game tunes that people can enjoy.

The is piece kind of makes me think the character is near the edge of space and climbing up higher to reach the boss at the end who is planning to do something terribly evil to the people of earth and stuff. You climb higher and realize that the main headquarters are gigantic but you don't have time to explore. You head for the main generator while avoiding security and dumb AI baddies as well.

You finally reach the generator room and are suddenly stopped by the mastermind who attempts to murder you. You manage to kill her off before she can kill you and everything else off. You turn off the ship and it begins to crash land to earth. Luckily you find a second kill switch and blow the ship up before it happens just mere moments before you jump off. You land down into the ocean and wash ashore a couple of days later. You are well taken care of and given time to relax until the next time.

The synth guitar and normal synth here are far beyond awesome here my friend. They collide together and give off an echo type effect that makes you feel incredibly upbeat about life. The bass line kind of makes me think of several other video games together. Liked the synth cool down as well. The drums are very simple yet highly relaxing here too. I have to say that this piece turned out incredible.

Overall, beautifully ravishing video game song. Would love to see it used in a game too. <3 <3

Whoa man thanks for the huge review! Was a really fun read.

"Let me start off by saying that when I heard the beta version I never imagined it would just end up sounding this incredible in the end actually."

I think that the second section of the song is better than the first, so I'm glad you think so too!

"I think you did quite a mind bogglingly good job of putting together a video game song. Nice to hear long and calmly put together original video game tunes that people can enjoy."

Agreed. Like I said in the Author's Comments, my main inspiration were Bjra's Video Game songs, because they're just so nice to listen to.

You have a knack for making scenes out of music :D. You're not the first one to associate this song to flying and/or a boss battle in a Video Game, so I might try and change the song's name to something along those lines.

"The synth guitar and normal synth here are far beyond awesome here my friend. They collide together and give off an echo type effect that makes you feel incredibly upbeat about life."

Yeah it's true that this song has somewhat of an upbeat sound. I'm happy you like the synths too - just wondering which synth sounds like a synth guitar for you...? Is it the one at 2:12?

"The bass line kind of makes me think of several other video games together."

Yay that's good news. I'm really proud of the bass synth but I'm terrible at basslines so the instant I make a bassline which actually sounds cool, I'll be all happeh :3.

"Liked the synth cool down as well."

Yes that's probably me messing around with the frequency filters. I quite like how it turned out too.

"The drums are very simple yet highly relaxing here too."

The drum's aren't that complex, it's true. I just kept a pretty simple hat-line and kick/snare beat, although I did try and vary them a little.

"I have to say that this piece turned out incredible."

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

Me too, but we'll see. As usual I made this song have plenty of mood changes and stuff, so I don't know if it'll fit perfectly in a game, but it would be awesome, yeah xD.

Thanks a lot for the large insightful review, I appreciate it a LOT!

Wonderful

Oh wow is this a very charmingly soft piece. I like the guitar a lot. I can just see a person very softly picking away on their acoustic guitar and then a second spotlight turns on and a friend begins to play on a keyboard beside them. They look at each other and continue on playing for the audience. The audience never says a thing and enjoys.

I liked the violin that begins to come in as well. It gives an even more relaxing quality to the song itself and kind of makes you feel a little better. However at the same time it makes you feel sad as if someone had just left you forever yet you will always miss them dearly no matter what. Years pass by, well two years anyway.

You soon decide there is little to nothing left to live for and become cryogenic-ally frozen. You wake up 2,000 years later, a lot has changed and you find out your girlfriend became famous for several things. You begin to date a decadent of hers and live a happy life. You feel close to her just being with someone who came from a long line starting with her.

Overall, beautifully composed piece you have made.

I enjoyed your story.

Nicely done

I have no idea but I can kind of see some lady just doing some long notes on vocals here ironically. This looks to be a good contest entry as well, wonder how well the other ones are as well. This piece kind of just makes you think something good or weird is going to happen at any moment as well.

The drums sound simple yet fast paced as well. The synth sounded pretty good here anyways and good pace. The second synth is also good as well.

Overall, good contest entry anyways. Good luck.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

Wow, I don't know if you read the previous comment, but you stated exactly the same thing, that the song needs vocals. It never even crossed my mind, but then again, vocals have never been my thing, so I don't know.

Could try though, you stated something interresting in saying long notes floating over the other lines would be a good idea, I'll try it out!

Once again, glad you enjoyed, I'll try out a few things you pointed out!

Cheers

Yay for this

I enjoy how it starts slow and then builds up to a mediocre yet cool and fast sounding piece. The beat kind of makes you feel really awesome yet shy as well for some reason. This could be a fitting piece for a lot of things anyways.

The synth was cool. Enjoy how it tends to stay locked into doing one beat until later where it does some subtle ambient notes and slowly changes back to what it was doing before. The drums are pretty chill and carry a very cool beat with them as well. Then the bass line adds a chilling feel to it and makes the beat a relaxing one to enjoy as well.

Overall, sleek piece anyways.

Sweet, I'm glad you liked it :D

Wacky

I liked the start with the soft drums that continue on and eventually get a harsher sound until the full blown dubstep sounds come out. I liked the synth here as well, harsh and then a second one comes in and makes it feel a lot like a boss battle tune. No bass line here.

The tune itself kind of just makes me think I am preparing to fight a very hard boss who has been trying to kill me for awhile. The tune is just really nice to hear as well. The way it flows all the way is slightly chaotic yet amusing as well.

Overall, chaotically charming.

Garages are awesome

Literally sounds like it was played in a garage and you have a small amount of people surrounding it and just watching you all play and enjoying it at the same time as well too. Sounds pretty cool anyways. The only thing needing readjusting here is possibly vocals, just record a louder vocals layer after doing the instrument track or just be louder at practice and such. :P

The guitar sounds great so you did a nice job there anyways. The bass line is good and clean in this song as well. The drums sound pretty cool. Have no idea why but I've always enjoyed drums, good workout and you almost always put your heart into it most of the time.

Overall, awesome song, just be a bit louder. :P

Sawdust responds:

Thanks! Although this wasn't made in a garage :P

Thanks for the kind words, I'll let you know when we're gonna release our demo EP!

Alright

I suppose this piece is alright. The overall beat seems a beat off touch but it still sounds cool anyways. Kind of makes me think of some old retro side scrolling shooter anyways.

The "ughhh" voice was cool anyways. Also "propane" is kind of funny I guess even though I don't care much for Hank Hill on his show anyways. The drums were cool here. I liked how spaced out the synths sounded here as well, kind of made you feel like zoming out for some reason or another.

The dub sounds were good and pretty cool anyways. The beat coming together is kind of like a very weird boss song that is still awesome anyways.

Overall, crazy, :D

Cool remix

Well this was certainly a cool remix to enjoy anyways. Glad to see it turned out this way. I always thought it was simply called "Boss Battle" but whatever right?

The bass line is cool and calm here. The drum line is well done and makes you feel as if the battle is on anyways. The synths and trumpets are cool here and make for a great piece overall anyways.

Overall, awesome remake of a boss song.

While this was intended to sound like FF, the tune is original. Is there a particular track that this sounds like? Maybe shoot me a link?

Serene play

This is a pretty calming house beat actually. Very enjoyable, could possibly work as a dance and lullaby piece anyways which is always good to see here as well. Also makes you feel real happy just to know that people still provide an atmosphere that makes you feel happy yet sleepy which is always good.

The synths were good and they kept going back and forth with each other keeping the beat going. The bass line was simply lovely to hear. Are those electro vocals I hear? Amazing!! The drums are simple and good to listen to. I enjoyed the build up and then it calms and allows the vocals to run along their path and keep going.

Around 2:38 I enjoy the really soft synth build up that slightly washes away the voice as the voice begins to shuffle around and keep at a good beat which is nice to see. I like the watery sound wave effect you use after then since it sounds pretty cool and the voice slowly comes back into motion later as the tune continues on.

Overall, really good beat you made.

BuggMusic responds:

Thanks for the review! It made me happy to know that my song made you happy :) or sleepy lol

I tried to make the bassline as funky as the original, and I'm glad you enjoyed them. The vocals are from the original track, and if my research serves me right, they were sung by Daft Punk themselves. Once again, thank you for your kind words.
