Smells like Retro Spirit

Really nice and well done 8-bit cover of a great song. Only thing missing is making the vocals 8-bit as well, it would make it all the more interesting. Good work here.

Awkward

The kazoo playing was rather awkward. The beat is still pretty nice I guess. Although there is a good amount of it sounding like people are spitting and humming as well. This is just weird but it still is pretty humorous. Makes for some nice funny background piece if you were doing a not so serious animation or short.

Voice

This is a simple sounding piece as you said. The tone of the song seems to be a person lost and not sure of where to go in life anymore as they feel slightly sad possibly too. Very soft song.

The guitar sounds very nice and I like how calm it sounds too. The vocals are also nice and I notice a layered effect from time to time to where you hear more than one voice. If anything could be fixed here I would turn down the bass a little bit so the voice is a little louder sounding, aside from that, nice simple tune.

Overall, simple, beautiful guitar playing.

Dub wub wub yea!!

Tune sounds pretty bouncy and really cheery at the same time. Sounds like it could be the start up to some kind of epic boss battle too as it progresses and keeps on playing. Really nice sounding beat, great work on this.

The piano sounds calm and pretty wonderful here. The synth has a nice light rhythm here as it comes in and out of the song at different times to keep things interesting. Drums seem to have a most wonderful rhythm and it sounds like you had layered snare hits which was pretty neat. The dub sounds were great and it sounds like when it goes to full blown dubstep that it would make an excellent boss battle piece.

Overall, this is a pretty great song, nice dub sounds.

Thanks for the review, friend!

So wonderful and refreshing

This kind of makes me think of watching a film where you watch the person cry for a moment as their last problem falls away and they look to the sky wondering if they can start it all over again and just be happy for once in their life hoping everything will be alright. Very beautiful composition.

The piano carried a nice melody and I liked how they almost sounded like there was a slight echo effect there for a moment giving that charismatic feel of knowing everything will be alright as you walk on and begin to leave the city and just enjoy the afternoon in the fields as some rain begins to fall.

The drums here sounded like there was a lot of enthusiasm and energy put into them too like the person playing was overjoyed to see it was all over. The drum beat was great. What drum sounds did you use here? The bass also carries a nice rhythm and sounds quite calming. The guitar is great and sounds like it was being played live.

Overall, this was a great tune. Has a very happy uplifting feel to it.

Hey man, thanks for the feedback. I haven't received any reviews in a while so I appreciate it!

You know that's an excellent observation because now that I think of it, that is exactly what this sounds like, haha.

"The piano carried a nice melody and I liked how they almost sounded like there was a slight echo effect there for a moment giving that charismatic feel of knowing everything will be alright as you walk on and begin to leave the city and just enjoy the afternoon in the fields as some rain begins to fall."

Yeah I'm quite fond of the piano here. It's actually the first thing which sparked the inspiration for this song, because in fact I got the melody by doodling on the piano.

"The drums here sounded like there was a lot of enthusiasm and energy put into them too like the person playing was overjoyed to see it was all over. The drum beat was great. What drum sounds did you use here?"

The drum sounds are random drum samples. They sound good because I spent ages fiddling with their sound frequencies and reverb :P.

"The bass also carries a nice rhythm and sounds quite calming."

Glad you like it! That sound is actually a free soundfont. It doesn't sound very good so again I had to mix it right to make it sound decent along with the rest of the instruments.

"The guitar is great and sounds like it was being played live."

Well the VST I used has guitar samples which are recorded from real guitars so yeah.

"Overall, this was a great tune. Has a very happy uplifting feel to it."

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm so happy it's hardcore!

Kudos if you know what song that line comes from too. This song sounds incredibly happy and I love the rhythm of it seeming to cheer you up as you just listen to it and it feels like you are happy all of a sudden. The tune is incredibly upbeat and I think calling it happy hardcore is perfectly fitting here. Excellent song!

The vocals are great actually, who's vocals are they anyways? The synth sounds so simple here but helps deliver a happy feeling to the listener at the same time. The bass is funky and quite enjoyable too. The drums are so simple as well and I like the rhythm they have as well.

Overall, this is a very happy song and I enjoyed it. Great work here!!

So calm and serene

This piece feels rather calm and almost as if you were exploring a dark past of yours and seeing how you went from having a best friend to feeling like everything is working against you. You wield your customized swords looking toward the night sky as you feel a rain drop on your cheek and wonder where things took such a dramatic turn for you. You look forward and hope that maybe you'll have a friend again who cares but until then you aim to keep the city safe. Wonderful tune. I like it.

The guitar sounds really clean and I like how it gives me a feel as if I might be playing Silent Hill and just looking for a way to survive in that world where nightmares suddenly become a very real reality for you. The violin makes you feel calmed and as if for a moment maybe you can relax before going back to helping the city.

The beeping up and down synth has a nice touch as it gives that feel of you just roaming at night and feeling happy even though you are alone. The piano is beautiful and I love how it sounds. The drums are calming and I notice a smooth rhythm as it keeps the song going and feeling happy at the same time.

Overall, this is a beautiful ambient piece. I like it!!

Off on an adventure once more!

Reminds me of how much fun I used to have playing Ocarina of Time too. Great game and good times. This tune is nice and the little light kicks don't sound too awful bad anyways. Kind of makes me think of someone actually walking or possibly going somewhere on a horse. This is a nice cover.

The synth was nice and gave that great feel of going on an adventure which was rather nice to hear. The piano was nice although it kind of felt like it should have been in some places when it was out but the song sounded great. The drums were nice and the rapid hi hats were nice to hear in the back, kind of made you think there was something playing in the grass.

The synth had a lot of great moments as it helped the song keep on going. The violin made you feel rather good and hopeful as you kept going on your quest to rescue Zelda once more from Ganondorf.

Overall, very well done cover, sounds so dreamy and peaceful to listen to. Excellent work on this cover.

I'm grateful for your review. I might consider changing the piano's rythem, maybe. I've been getting much critisism on the middle so I' change that quite a bit.

P.S: it's a DEMO, if you didn't read my "author's comments". I just can't accept that it's actually a "very well" piece of work. At least I got more critisism.

A boss maybe?

Sounds a lot like the start up for a boss battle actually where you were warped to a separate dimension to do battle with it against your party. Still pretty interesting though since it seems to have that dark and yet ever so quick feel to it like if you were to blink the battle could be over for you. Very nicely done and quick paced drum and bass song.

The drums sound nice and I liked the slight echo effect they seemed to have from time to time. The violins give that classical bit of hope to the song as the battle wages on. The bass here was really wet feeling and almost felt a tiny bit like dubstep too interestingly. Liked around 2:16 where the drums sounded a tiny bit like one of the instruments was underwater.

Then it picks back up into a darker yet more calm part. Kind of reminds me of Armored Core which was also a pretty fun game. Nicely done beat.

Overall, nicely done drum and bass piece, sounds great!

Thank you! :D
Most of my tracks are very videogame-sounding, especially my more action-packed ones. I think any track could be used in a videogame as long as the whole is enough interesting.
Thank you for your interpretation and review ^^

And forth they went

This does sound like something you would hear while exploring a mountain cave and trying to find the person who is rumored to live there. You find them yet they ask you to leave and explain they live there for they were strong and quick in defeating their rivals when they were assassin and have retired yet feel that cave is the only place they will ever get peace from kings and queens asking for him to help. Really smooth and classical tune.

I like the slight whistle like sound I hear that is mostly a flute sounding instrument. The vocals are nice and give a feel of having found something most wonderful and calming. The wind pipe sounds are also nice and kind of make me think of Final Fantasy. The guitar here sounds really classical and nice on the ears too.

Overall, wonderful adventure feeling song.

Excellent imagery... I almost like yours better than mine. XD

I really had more fun doing the instrumentation than writing the melody, which is actually an older one I created about half-a-year ago (I've been trying to finish a lot of old pieces lately). I'm honestly really glad it worked out well, at least in your ears. :)

Thanks for the great review,
