Calming

Kind of reminds you of watching a storm and soon seeing it end as you see puddles everywhere and everything outside simply looks glossy and shiny as the sun tries to peak but cannot as night time approaches outside. You enjoy the subtle sound and feel of the thunder and lightning help you fall asleep and see in the morning that the storm is still raging on for some reason.

The storm sounds are really nice here as they help create an atmosphere for the song I think. The synth is really pleasing on the ears and makes you feel happy hearing the ambient appeal of it. The light click sound makes you think a bit of metal bells. The bass line was nice I think. The drums are very calming and soothing on this piece.

Overall, very nice and calming atmospheric song.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad the song was able to conjure up some chill imagery for you - that's what its all about!

Good composition

Well I found this to be a dynamic sounding piece of work that draws you in as well. Can kind of envision some kind of final or next to final boss battle beginning to take place in an RPG game as the leader or and girls of the group have a long drawn out speech hoping they can save the world as they go through their inventory to check and make sure they have everything needed. The battle begins...

The guitar is actually really nice to hear here as it gives a highly dynamic feel to the battle that is about to unfold. The piano gives a dark tone as if you could also lose at any moment as well. The bass line trumpets/trombones sound very dark here indeed. The drums sound really cool and dynamic as they encourage you to keep going and never give up on that last boss battle as the boss nears their final form trying to kill you all.

Overall, awesome boss battle piece.

Sparta

Yup, I remember when it was super popular, not so much now but you did a great job here. You took a dull annoying tune and remixed it into something even better!! Nice work here.

coleknows responds:

Ya, it was quite dull. I was making this for something new though. A sparta duel is basically a competition on who can make the best freestyle sparta remix. They are often done with other versions known as bases. I made this one simply because i have been looking at too many duels during the time i made this :P

Brutal

I am completely wishing this was some bad ass boss theme at the moment. Really excellent use of guitar play though. Really did a good job here, is that you playing or the computer?

The guitar sounds right on and very wicked here I think so nice work. Like how it almost feels like it is going to break into a solo there for a moment so nice work drawing the listener in like that. The bass sounds excellent. The double bass drums are completely dreamy and brutal ,excellent work here.

Overall ,excellent beat, just needs lyrics. \m/

CasketGrind responds:

bahaha only computer there is the drums. I recorded 4 guitar tracks for this 1 panned hard right and 1 left. then i had 1 slightly left and another slightly right. i got a great sound :) oh and there was no bass.. i kinda had to eq some of the guitar tracks to be deep. if you liked it so much ill upload some more XD

Well then

This is one heck of a remix of that song. From creepy, sinister, and awesome to 20% more awesome. This would make a cool boss song for some flash game I think, excellent work here!!

thank you very much! glad you liked it :)

Sounding Wheatly

I have no idea why but I really want to think this is the theme of Wheatly from Portal2 even though the song is brand new and never ever appeared in that game either. Kind of odd right? Really weird technical sounding piece of audio though, still pretty cool though. Maybe it would make for a great space level song which would also be really nice.

The tune kind of has a quirky tone to it that makes you feel rather weird anyways. Also kind of reminds me of the older Sonic the Hedgehog game levels where you were up in space or on the Death Egg a lot so this turned out to be a good nostalgic tune as well.

The synth has a highly spaced out and quirky tone to it that kind of just makes you think of space or a video game that takes place in space anyways. The bass kind of just backs up the main piece and gets you relaxed feeling as you explore the area as well. The drums are simple and fun sounding here too.

The secondary synth sounds I hear from time to time make me think of the turret opera from the end of Portal2.

Overall, really nice and well done tune, cool.

I wanna play portal so bad now...

I saw the turret easter egg though and I see the resemblence between the two.

Thanks for the review!

Strange

Start kind of reminds me of an episode of Friendship is Magic where Applejack and Pinkie Pie are zooming in and out of seeing theirselves in the trophy. Really interesting piece of work though. Kind of makes you think of panic as if a murder had just happened and everyone was wanting to see what had happened too. Very interesting piece to say the least. Heh, that rhymed.

The voices are all really good though, where did they come from anyways?

The eight bit sound I hear is cool since it kind of makes you think this was a deleted scene from a really old video game actually. The drums and rumbling feel of the bass are also chaotic feeling as well. That sine wave going up and down gives a strange feel of chaos too I think.

Overall, weird song, would do great as a background piece for a creepypasta I think.

PIED3 responds:

Thanks very much for the long review. The voices are all from YouTube videos i found of various fights. Glad you enjoyed it!

Pleasing

Well I found this to be a completely pleasing remake of that song from Dark Cloud 2 although I prefer the cute kitty girl from the first one actually. She just seemed real calm and helpful and sounded nice too. Awesome remake though, would not mind seeing it used in a flash game at this point either.

The drums com in rolls and sound quite awesome to me at least so I really enjoyed that. The synth was rather cool and I like how it lingers on for a bit at the start as well. The trumpet sounded nice here I think. The click thing sounded cute as well.

Overall, really nice remake of a song. Kind of makes me think of the really old Final Fantasy games too.

Ixalon responds:

Thank you really much! I really indeed focused on those drums cause the original had great drum effects and sounds too, so wanted them in here too.

Glad you liked it! Still going to make more remakes from Dark Cloud 2!

Smooth

Well I found this to be a peaceful work of art anyways right up to where it changes over to dubstep as well. Kind of makes you think of yesteryear and thinks being nice and as soon as the dub blasts in it kind of makes you wonder if you enjoy your life or not now. Most hopefully do though.

The guitar and bass work together to create a great piece of art as they give a blast of visuals in your mind though. The drums were also very calming as well I think. The synth seems to blast a dark wave at you kind of making you feel a bit strange though so that works.

The voice is cool but who is that? The dub sounds are rather calming and lead back to the intro of the song with little to no notice that the dub sounds have stopped which is cool.

Overall, interestingly calm piece of work.
