This isn't too bad for a first song. However the background synth could be removed since it sounded like another song was playing altogether when I first realized it was there in the background. Then as it started to rise in volume it sounded a lot better than when it was only in the background.

The main synth makes me think of a voice making a sound, has it clipped, looped and then added as a wonderful sounding synth that can be used. The bass is also good to hear since it seems really calm in the background.

The drums are nice and I like the kicks. The build up used later into the song was nice to listen to.

Overall, this song sounded fantastic. Nothing to really improve aside from the background synth near the start.

Newgrounds should really add a way to let artists know if someone reviewed their piece -__-

But anyways, thank you for the review! It means a lot and I'm glad you liked it, as I worked very hard to get this song from the first draft of it to this. I also appreciate the suggestion for the background synth, I actually didn't notice that it made it sound like there was another song playing until you mentioned it and I listened to the song again. I'll keep that in mind for future pieces.

While this is a lovely cover of a classic song on what sounds to be a messy mix of acoustic guitar and piano it could be improved a whole lot.

The guitar while being played should have most or all of the notes being played at the same volume for a much cleaner sound. It sounds great for what you have done though as it sounds very much like the original piece.

One thing that is of an annoyance seems to be the light background sounds being picked up such as people in the audience speaking or static in the air also being caught on the microphone. Try doing a cleaner recording in a smaller room and this sound sound much better.

Overall, background noise, static, and some notes at the start being played lightly seem to be what needs working on.

I really enjoyed this track since it gives a feel of going somewhere in a city very quickly by way of parkour. The sound of the song is fantastic.

The liquid synth gives that hardcore feel to the song as the clock ticks away and the need to get across the city grows more and more frantic. The bass is mellow and I like how it feels as if it were going up and down.

The drums are fast paced and I like how they pick up later into a full song and give that rising sound as you finally get to the finish.

Overall, nothing to really improve here, good work.

The tune is short and charming. Makes me think of sprawling out and relaxing on the holidays.

The echoing glass synth sounds really nice given the delayed echo effect to it. The bass makes me think of some Window XP error songs that people have made. The ambient backing synth adds atmosphere and makes me think of Halloween possibly. As for the drums they are soft and mellow.

Overall, nice little short track I think.

Cut off the first ten to fifteen seconds and the song will begin to get better since the song starts after that point. Tune seems to be quite interesting.

The bass sound used could be a little lower in volume since near the start of the song when the others sounds come in it makes a few popping sound then the rest of the way is fine.

The drum rhythm sounds really good and gives that feeling of needing to move to the rhythm to have a fun time. Then the synth sounds like a pop/dance styled synth being used from FL Studio that works here since it makes me think the song is a slightly new concept idea to listen to. The secondary backing synth also sounds really nice and the echoing sound to it is great.

Overall, wonderful track, bass at the start just needs to be worked on a bit.

Really have to say this song was quite enjoyable to listen to. The scratching sound makes me think of someone bringing the song to life and generally feeling happy about it.

The main synth has a bit of reverb it sounds like that makes me think of an ambient guitar playing in the background giving the song an overall atmospheric tone. Then the long background synth notes seem really mellowed out and give a feeling of just drifting and floating endlessly as the day passes by while nothing really seems to happen.

The bass is nice and quiet in the background and sounds great. Really like the sound of the guitar playing and the general light noted synth heard from time to time near the middle of the song. The drums are calm and sound a bit chiptune like in sound.

Overall, a wonderful song.

Thank you very much, the mixing on this took ages and I'm really proud of the end result. It's one of my personal favorites.

I'll be sure to take a look at your work soon

Song has a really nice rhythm to it that seems to make one feel happy. I can see where the tune would be rather fitting to play around the holidays possibly at a party. That or it could fit in a level of a game where the protagonist has to be bothered to look at several bizarre creatures and save the holidays from something.

The main synth sounds rather on the high end of notes for a cheerier feel. I imagine it could be gloomier sounding if the notes were set to sound much deeper. The quirky buzz like sound I hear phasing in and out in the background sounds pretty good for the song.

The bass sounds like it goes up a couple of notes and then goes back to the first note, repeats a couple of times and keeps going up. I can see how it would help give an uplifting feel to the song. The rhythm of the drums also sounds good.

Overall, great work.

The pan flute starting the song is just beautiful and the ambient bass line was very pleasing on the air. Like how the uprising noise heard for a moment reminded me of a wolf howling at the moon as well. Shanath's vocals are very beautiful to listen to as well. This sounds like music that would play at the start of the game.

The older styled drums are beyond beautiful for the song and sound like they are being played by an actual orchestra. The bass line I hear gives off a nice ambient feel as if traversing the world of Okami. As for the xylophone, with each note it gives me that feel of drifting off into a dream of fun and wonder and a journey too.

Shanath's vocals sound like that of a professional singer which I have to admire quite a bit. Bouy's guitar playing seems to add the sensation of just wanting to run everywhere and see the world and what it has to hold and be discovered.

Overall, this is an incredibly beautiful collaboration!

Shanath responds:

I wish I was the one singing this, but it was the amazingly talented Fyri52 from youtube. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you think it sounds so good! It took a lot of effort and I'm glad people are liking it in general.

Thanks for the kind words. :3

Hmm I really did enjoy the intro since it gives that feel that what Celestia does is deceive and lead ponies down the wrong path in life when giving advice. Do have to agree with Luna's anger a bit in that no pony seemed to appreciate the night, I imagine there were some that did but she sadly never got to meet them.

Really like the combination of the synth bass and xylophone making a beautiful melody that would allow one to enjoy how the night looks outside. Then the main synth comes in and seems to give an incredibly cheery upbeat tone in that there is hope for those in the Lunar Republic, those that enjoy the beauty of the night time.

Liked the glitching segments a lot since it seemed to give a feel that Celestia might be trying to interfere with the tune and get ponies to only enjoy the day once more. However it still leaves a slight feeling of happiness for those enjoying the night.

The drum rhythm is quite nice and I like the glitching roll path for the snare that is having that effect applied to it. Then you have the synth by itself for a moment with the delay effect that gives a feeling of it being completely dark yet wonderful outside with some backing ambient glass tones. The piano is really nice although at 5:09 it sounded as if one of the piano notes was suddenly cut short.

The buildup for the rest of the song is just beautifully done and masterful.

Overall, aside from what sounds like the sound of a piano note being cut off at 5:09 it sounds wonderful!

Really liked the wobbly synth rhythm. The tune gives that feeling of some awkward boss in a game telling you they can never die before you kill them.

The wobbling synth is really nice and gives a great front sound. The second synth I hear being deeper is good on the ears. The build up sound was also pretty nice. The drum rhythm sounds like a simple use of drums with the basic drum kit you can start with combined with a second snare.

Overall, nice little tune.
