Lovely

Yea it does seem that way, it was a real cold feel to it as if knowing it was cold outside but everyone is happy at the same time to see that snow around as it makes them feel better on the inside. The tune is very well composed and I liked the real fat notes that played here too, very well done there. Excellent song.

Superstrings responds:

Thank you SCTE3 for the for taking the time to write such a nice warming review! In fact I felt exaclty as you described, I just couldn't find the words.

Ice Cap much?

Sounds an awful lot like Ice Cap from Sonic the Hedgehog actually. The beat here sounds really great. Like how it seems to keep in balance and compared to the original this one sounds a whole lot smoother too so great work there. The song could probably be louder but maybe that's just me.

The synth sounds great and I like how it goes up and down as if snow was coming to your face and then passing right by it and falling to the ground as each snowflake falls right past your face. However I guess I have no idea why but I would love to hear a synth solo near the end to see how well it would go with the rest of the song.

The bass here is nice and steady and seems to come in the form of triplet notes that gallop and keep going. Could have them go up a note every now and then though to make it sound cooler anyways. The drums were also great here and very smooth.

At some parts the synth when playing alone kind of reminds me of the song "Cat came back the very next day" which is a cool reference if you meant to and alright if not. Also loved how the song had a kind of robotic heart feel to it going towards the four minute mark.

Overall, great remastered song.

coleknows responds:

louder? :C
Isn't loud enough?

Anyways, i kind of like how you actually critisized some parts. I need that. I don't get that much anymore. :C

Boss time

Really sounds like a great boss battle based theme to me which makes it all the better too. The song has a flow coming from it that makes you think of your character as some kind of bad ass hero. The tone of the song is not too awful bad anyways. The guitar sounds great.

The guitar has a good flow and great playing to it. The drums are great and love the beat they have there, sounds a bit like it was from an electronic drum kit. The bass is very light or lacking here though, just add a bass and it should be all good.

Overall ,great metal piece.

DHansen90 responds:

that's awesome man. I mean the guitar is programmed so it's definitely limited... and oops. there is no bass... haha. I mean, I figured we'd add it when we record this for the EP. thanks for your input! and check out my band StillTheSky on facebook! =)

Castle castle

Ah, I do enjoy the simple joy this song seems to be bringing as it plays along actually. The song has a way of just making you feel funny yet fancy while living in some sort of castle that you made yourself. The tune is very nice and could easily be used for almost any flash.

The piano has such simple chord strikes but sounds very elegant. To be honest I recognize the piano style, just not the piano. As in what kind. The xylophone gives a good feel of you simply enjoying the castle and roaming along. Also kind of makes me think of Donkey Kong 64. The second piano also sounds really nice.

Overall, great piece, kind of makes me think of Ivo Robotnik's theme.

JPRixdorfer responds:

Thank you!

I was thinking about Day Of The Tentacle when I made this, especially the basement part of 200 years in the past. It's been years since I last played it, so I guess there's just the very essence of it, if anything.
I like doing lighthearted music. For that purpose the xylophone is just perfect. It's always kind of silly and never mean. The piano is a harpsichord / cembalo (hence the title), the predecessor of the piano. If you use it, anything will sound old-timey at once. Use a couple of baroque style chords and youre in the past :D
I don't really know, what you mean by second piano though.
Thanks for the review!

Good rhythm

Well I see it has a good rhythm anyways and the start has an angelic feel to it as if people were coming down towards you to spread hope to all around you. The tune has a sort of robotic feeling voice in there as well actually which is pretty weird or was it what you aimed for?

The drums are solid and hard hitting with a great and tricky rhythm to them. The chorus gives a good feel and sounds nice. The synth has an icy feel to it as if making you feel cold yet happy at the same time too. The bass is nice and feels great on the ears to me making it all the better to enjoy.

I loved the windy sound giving a feel and helping lead to the dubstep part later in the song too. Even then it remains truly light in listening to the wubs and wobbles.

Overall, good beat.

TimerClock14 responds:

Thanks. :D

Still incredible

Nothing short of being another amazing piece of work from you. Not really much that could be improved here I don't think. The tune just makes you feel real happy too. Very good dance piece. Can kind of see two kittens playing here or at least that is what the synth and piano here make me think of at least. Very beautiful song. Enjoyed it.

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

Thanks:3
To me it seems a little intense for kittensXD

Boss battle arrival

Well the tune sounds pretty weird. The tone of it seems to be a pre-boss battle theme where you are heading to the boss and getting ready to complete the game once and for all happily. Could kind of see like some kind of super boss I suppose.

The drums are cool and have a whispering echo like effect to them that makes you think other creatures may be around trying to do destroy the heroes. The piano and synth work well together to create a great chaotic front for this piece. The bass is nice and helps move the song along. At one point it feels like I am hearing a voice getting ready to say something, interesting.

Overall, very interesting piece, completely enjoyable.

Drony responds:

And let me add that I enjoy reading your reviews :)

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaank yooooooouuuu

Also It probably sounds weird because I lack music theory knowledge :P

Nice and simple

I like how the bass has a simple flow to it and almost feels like someone was actually playing it actually. The pace for it is also very decently done. The piano gives that everlasting feeling of hope that you can beat the game if you just keep on going.

The secondary bass is far more hard hitting and very smooth on the ears too. The ambient synth gives a feeling of not knowing where you are but despite this you want to make it out alive and beat the game.

Overall, great bass sample project anyways. Also congrats on this being the 444444th audio submission submitted to the audio portal. :P
