This is not too bad for your first game, however there was one problem I had with it. It is either incomplete or the game has a coding glitch preventing you from finishing it at all. Would not mind seeing a second version of this game actually, seems like you are off to a good start with making this game too.

The graphics were great actually and the strobe floors, platforms, and ceiling for the first couple of levels is pretty nice. Then the floating blocks make me think of the first level from Super Mario Bros. 3, same thing with the water that is seen too. Then the last level is similar to the first with the strobe platforms changing colors. The enemies also looked decent as well.

The game play seemed simple and jumping was easy too. Enemies did not take long to beat and it seemed there was only one boss in this near the end of the second level you go to which did not take long to beat. The only enemies that seemed completely unbeatable were the Koopas since I could not seem to destroy them, just push them back a bit.

The major lacking point in this game is the audio. Sure, you got sounds for firing bullets but that appears to be it. No music, no finishing level sounds or anything else. Feels more like a game in beta form at this time. Adding music could liven this game up quite a bit.

Overall, not a bad start to a game, the only major things missing are music and the game being completable. Currently not completable since the last level going to the last platform takes you nowhere and jumping beyond that there appears to be no platforms to reach for.

sampearce8 responds:

i just edited the level you were talking about. when you get to the last platform, walk to the center of it, that's where it'll take you to the next level. also the boss for world 3 (black and purple) you have to kill before he runs away. but thanks for the comments!!

I think this game could use more work on it but since you don't plan to update this soon, maybe make a newer version in the future where there is better stuff all around in the game.

The graphics were all sprites so not much to complain about there. The Go and Wave font was alright since it showed when you had completed a wave at least.

The audio was nice and fit rather well since it came from a Kirby game making it all the better. Only problem with it is it does not loop perfectly, instead of having a cut off and then starting right over there is a moment of silence where you can kind of hear the song fading out and then the song starts again at full volume which is not much of a problem.

The game play seemed to be a little buggy. During the first two waves when I get the powered up cutting power it would stick for the whole level but during later levels instead of keeping the power you could use it twice and then it went back to the default cutter power. So not sure if it was supposed to stay the whole time or just shoot twice for the whole game.

Another thing that could possibly be added or fixed is either allowing Kirby to absorb enemies which would allow him to use the arrow shooting ability on later levels or remove those foes altogether since it seems kind of pointless to have a foe with an ability there if you cannot absorb them. Same goes for the wheelie and rock enemies. The rock enemies proving to be just a bit annoying since they take a couple of more hits than usual to defeat.

The only other problem here is no preloader screen. At the most you could add in a simple screen saying Loading then have the text change to play to indicate the game has loaded. Not really a problem though since it only takes a moment for the game to load anyways.

Overall, pretty buggy with some things and a lack of a preoloader. Not too bad for your first game though.

Lionelion responds:

With your issue of the powered up cutter, what probably happened was that you let an enemy go off screen, and what that happens, its the same as getting hit by an enemy, you power down.
I know, i really need to add a preloader screen, but im not very proficient with scripting/coding yet, so thats why i havent added one.
I didnt really want to have Kirby using multiple abilities in this game, thats why he only gets to use cutter. plus, it would have been harder to code, and like i said, im not too good yet.
Thanks for the review though!

The game seemed to be alright although there were times it felt rather difficult with the final maze (Minecraft) being a little more than difficult since it is a side scrolling level and the mouse needs to be moving the whole time so you won't make any mistakes. Then it got funny at the end since it was practically impossible to fail if you stayed in one place since the final goal is very large and can't be missed unless you touch a wall from moving.

The game play concept was nice in that it takes away the one thing that a player is used to seeing in a maze game, the mouse or some other kind of object to allow a player to know right where they are at. Although the game does help fix that a bit with triangulation pointers to show where your mouse is at all times. That was very helpful.

The music while it was completely nice needs to be fixed so that it loops since it played once and then just stopped playing for me. That or maybe have a different song for both the Pac Man and Minecraft levels maybe? More 8 bit for the Pac Man and I guess something fast sounding for the Minecraft level since the screen is scrolling the whole time.

Nice to see all the medals work.

The only problem I encountered in this game was level 3 where I only see two of the three pointers with the third one having been misplaced under the background layer and really doesn't seem to be obvious or seen unless you are in the left corner. Should fix that real quick so that it is on the same layer with the other two pointers.

The graphics were simple for all of the level and I think the Pac Man level could have been humorous and more challenging as well if the ghosts had been added to the level just to make it a little more difficult. The Minecraft level has nice graphics too.

Overall, not really much to fix, different from most maze games and the one pointer on level 3 should be brought forth so all three of them are on the same layer. Nice work here CrazyRock and MikeyS9607.

Thanks man, i love reading your reviews. They say just what is wrong and what is good, keep up with 'em :)

This seemed to be really short and while it is about how crappy shovelware is and how they tend to pass for no reason it ends up short on just about everything.

The intro was actually pretty nice with the 8-bit name and all. Then we go straight to where we can play and it gives a tiny bit of info on the game itself.

Then we go off to playing the game itself. Should deny trying to kill Pico you get a Game Over screen saying that even with shovelware that you are somehow a winner. Then should you kill Pico we get the actual ending. The only problem I had here is when you shoot him the next couple of frames flash by far too quickly, could maybe have each frame last a few moments longer instead before having it say "Reporting to Tom Fulp..."

When that happened I caught a glimpse of Pico glitching and breaking apart. Then possibly a frame that shows Pinkie Pie from MLP:FIM correct? Then the next frame looks like a scribbling, would be nice though if you slowed that part down so the player can see what happens when the player tries to kill Pico.

Lastly we end up at the canon ending frame that simple says in a way that uploading shovelware in a way is killing Pico since it doesn't look or seem to be actual user content but just free advertising for some random website.

I recognize the music as a metal cover of "Still More Fighting" from Final Fantasy VII, feels a tad bit fitting with the song title but the tune could possibly be replaced with a fast paced drum and bass song in my opinion. The medal was also pretty easy, just accept trying to kill Pico.

Overall, short, could have the death of Pico frames be a little longer instead of flashing by so quickly. Could also maybe give a definition of what a shovelware game is at the starting screen too.

I found this game was ironic and yet fun to play at the same time. The game was more about having patience to get everything done. Even getting all the medals required patience since you had to play through more than once to get them all.

That being said I did enjoy the messages I saw whenever I decided to talk or look at something aside from Fonz who just says "AYYYYY!" every time. However you do need to talk to him a lot to get the medal which kind of felt like a waste and makes me wonder why he was put in the game if he serves on purpose at all.

Another funny set of medals I enjoyed was Talkative (talk to everything before taking stuff and after taking stuff) and Temporal Paradox (secret medal) where you go back to where the ghost hugged you only to see your own ghost instead and from there you can pretty much complete the game normally since nothing really seems to happen aside from a small conversation between the two.

The graphics of this game reminded me a lot of older video games yet at the same time there was some stuff that looked like it was drawn in MS Paint and not very pixelated such as the people and jellyfish. Then the black screen area with the ghost made me think of those times where you go out of bounds in video games and sometimes see stuff that was never meant to be seen.

The audio seemed pretty simple to me since it was just one sound I heard for when the trex was walking everywhere.

Game play was just having to be patient since moving from one screen to the next took a little bit of time to wait on. I did enjoy seeing the dialogue boxes saying various things and the game probably would have been more interesting had the ocean been grape soda instead as the trex in the game suggested. The duck's beak coming off and then ending the game with lasers and snakes was also pretty funny. Then there was the end where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles say they are aliens instead because of Michael Bay making a movie about them and I think the trex is right with saying childhoods will be ruined due to the movie possibly. Was very fun just trying to get through the game.

Then lastly the medals were rather fun and simple to get. Nice to see the way medals are unlocked is a little differently worded with a dinosaur appearing in the corner and saying what was unlocked in a speech bubble.

Overall, the game is funny with some of the dialogue. Ironic with the title of the flash (could be the best though depending on your opinion of the game). Very retro with the graphics, simple with the audio, and just a fun yet slow game to play. Nice work on this game, I guess there will be a third called "The Bestest Game Ever Made" too. Had fun playing this, great job.

I found this to be an excellent and hilarious game at the same time. The sad part is might take a few playthroughs to realize you can't dodge the knife which is the whole joke of the game. The game itself was still fun and hilarious nonetheless.

The graphics here were pretty nice and no matter where you go the place looks really nice. Kind of funny though how hiding nearly right behind a tree just results in you dying most of the time without the tree falling since you have to be right up behind it. Good to see each character got their own look although the chances of being near most of them are slim to none since it is impossible to play for more than a few moments before being killed, or if you try to move off the platform before the timer goes down then you just blow up.

The music playing was pretty nice so that was rather enjoyable to say the least. Good work on Oney's part.

The medals are fun yet misleading all together. While they say one thing, how you get them is pretty different since as said earlier, you only play for a few moments each time meaning you have to know where to go to get each one. Probably the easiest medal to get though is the 100 point medal, just die 10 times to win. Then for the second medal, stand to the tree nearest to you on the left side. Then go to the black kid by going left for another one. Then grab the orange bag in front of you for another medal. Then go to the left and be near the guy with a mustache for another medal.

Overall, this is a hilarious April Fools Day game. Excellent work on this game.

This game felt rather broken to me since you can literally get almost all of the medals without bothering to play for more than two minutes. After getting the first switch just keep pressing space to get all of the switch medals then watch the credits foe two more medals.

The music for the game felt alright.

The graphics of this game seemed to be ok but I feel maybe more work could have been put into it to make it look better and author description is a bit misleading since you say the robot is green yet they are blue/red instead. The underground was alright looking as well.

The parts of the game that need the most fixing is the game play itself. Mostly, hitting switches, every time I hit one I don't want to be sent to the menu to watch another ad, this gets annoying rather quickly and most of the times also enlarges the screen too with no way to zoom out to get it back to regular view just making it harder to see where switches are as the game goes on, possibly a coding but but I doubt anyone wants to see the menu and "PLAY" button every time they hit a switch.

Another glitch encountered was going to the underground resets the switches making the game take far longer to play.

This game could have been much better but far too buggy to even be able to enjoy. Best of luck making games in the future, hopefully they will be less buggy too.

This game is so small in size yet is fun to play online too with other people. Nice to see a lot of people have played it since it came out a couple of days ago. Another excellent online game from you I see.

The game play mostly focuses on strategy and being able to launch a base first with which said, you can either put up a launch pad or protect other people have gotten up a launch pad and try to race to get in the most research first to launch your team's rocket to Mars first. However, other things can be done such as building up an armory and barracks together to have a large amount of soldiers to defend yourself or attack with, making a spy hub for spying on anyone who has a large amount of coins, research, soldiers and such, or simply building up cities to get lots of coins real quickly.

The music I have to say was pretty nice and simple for the most part. The only sad thing is when the song is over instead of looping it simply ends until you do something then starts up again. The clicking and hovering over things sounds were nice as well. Would be nice to have a little more variety in music I suppose, maybe a different tune for each place you go and attack.

The graphics here were nice and simple, like how the background seems to look like the front page of the website the player is on giving it kind of a home feeling and then each site has a unique looking set of weapons, bases, cities, and etc. The panels change in color too to match the corresponding website that is being played on.

Possibly the hardest part is getting enough money stocked up in case you wish to do something or keeping the population happiness up enough to get an attack bonus. Found a nice idea for getting good money was having four to five cities then setting the tax rate to 0-3% until happiness was at 100% then keep the tax rate at 50-55% as it does not seem to go down when in that range and you get a nice sum of coins per turn. Then possibly stocking up on soldiers and level nine weapons which will help a lot if you get attacked or lose some soldiers while attacking.

The only other problem I encountered with the game was from time to time when the timer went down to zero is instead of gaining nine turns as usual you would get no turns at all for some reason. It doesn't happen often though which is very good.

Overall, very fun and competitive online game. Only problem is you do not get your turns every now and then. Excellent work!!

Well this needs some work on it. For one the secret medals DO NOT WORK currently. Beat the game, first secret medal is obtained yet does not show up as being unlocked making it a broken medal. The second secret medal does work though so if you ever get to working on this game again, fix up the "Lights, Camera..." medal so it appears and can be obtained.

Game play seemed simple which was just click some stuff for easy medals and obeying the ":3" face that appears on the computer. Clicking on "Who Cares" when it appears causes a glitch where no buttons can be clicked and the game must be restarted. The "Get help" option is kind of funny I guess since you go to a chat room where no one can really help with the problem anyways.

Graphics here seem pretty low and just slapped together. Could have at least spent some time doing the graphics if you aimed to make the game that easy to play. That and there is no music playing either making this an incredibly dull thing to play at all.

Overall, fix the broken medal, update the graphics, fix the "Who Cares" button so it won't mess up the game. Just needs improving.

I found this game to be wonderfully interesting to play and at the same time watch. I know that not every transgendered person goes through the same experience and yours seemed interesting too. The retro view of this just made it all the more interesting.

The graphics were all retro to the point of reminding me of the Atari 2600 which had the 2-bit graphical style shown here. The text boxes were nice to show what people were thinking of you all the while and by the end even when some people still called you sir you just blasted them away letting them know you are a ma'am and no longer a sir at all.

The story seemed to be that you just always felt like you were born in the wrong body and meant to be of the other gender yet trapped on your current gendered body. Over time you have to lower your blood pressure before getting hormone meds and the doctor soon stops it as you no longer take blood pressure since it literally drained you of energy and simply ordered the meds online and yet your sister wondered why you were doing this. By the end you felt all better despite some people simply not ever going to be able to understand what you were going through mentally and physically.

The music you had playing felt so weird yet comforting at the same time since it kept making me think of the Earthbound intro music and kind of in a way the Cave of the Past and Giygas battle music for some reason too. Just had a totally strange atmosphere about it. Music was just weird yet interesting.

The medal was an easy gain as you have to learn and read and do all of the story and at the end you feel better and the medal is unlocked as well.

Overall, I found this to be a most interesting autobiography and small game about the hardships you went through while going from being a man to a woman and being able to feel good as your confidence grew over time despite all that seemed to happen. Excellent art style game/autobiography, best of luck to you in future endeavors in your life. Great work here!
