Awesome remix

I actually think this would be far more fitting if they played this for some of the darker boss battles he did against Sonic. You did a great job remixing the song.

The synth and keyboards sound excellent and provide a dark backdrop for the fight against Robotnik and his many machines he would use in battle to fail at crushing Sonic and his hopes of saving Mobius and Earth. The drums sound pretty cool and chill, I like them a lot here. The bass line is just perfect.

Overall, an excellent remix.

Ragezero responds:

Thanks a bundle :) I used a piano with 2 synths at the same time for an extra robotic sound :)

Lapras?

Saw this song and the first thing I thought of was the Pokemon called Lapras but I guess the titles can be misleading and irrelevant sometimes right? Despite the misleading title I still like how the tune sounds though, makes you feel strange yet happy in a good way.

The first synth sounds nice and keeps a simple beat. The second one produces long ambient sounds. The third synth produce some nice high tone pitched sounds which are pleasing to me anyways. The drums sound good to me and very simple. I like the bass here too. It kind of just makes you feel relaxxed.

Overall, I really like how this one turned out even if the song is not about the Pokemon named Lapras.

pigeontoucher responds:

I do love to keep it simple and balance instruments to try making it all sound pleasing, and use reverb to a subtle effect, not blasting the song with it like I've heard in a lot of audio portal tracks.

I hope you know that giving this good, thought out feedback is really a blessing to the usually attention depraved audio portal. Keep planting your seeds and making people feel like their effort paid off, even in a little way.

And yes, it's named after the Pokemon.

Pretty good

Ironically I just beat Misty in the Cerulean Gym moments ago with a Charmeleon and a Pikachu. Really loved how you stuck with the original beat as well. This is actually a really sick cover version. Also would not consider this to be a remix as nothing changed, it does however make an excellent metal cover tribute to the game.

The guitar riff sounds awesome with the fitting breakdowns that sound just like the original. The bass line is also fitting and I like how it does a couple of breakdowns as well. The drums are superb. I will say when it all flows together it is just an amazing piece of work.

Overall, great piece, love how the series has made a lot of good tunes for bosses and legendary battles. Looking forward to more.

HighwindLegend responds:

Thats what I was going for, thanks. I pretty much call it a remix because it has a better ring to it than reorchastration (plus I probably spelled it wrong lol). I have a youtube channel with a TON of more remixes, you should check it out sometime!

Awesome \m/

Wow is this a sick beat you have made. The guitar solos are awesome.

The guitar sounds great and even better with the breakdowns that happen. The lyrics are cool and remind me a bit of Tenacious D's antics when they wrote songs as well. The bass sounds good too me. I like the drums as well since they are awesome. I like how you reference Mario killing goombas and foes which is funny.

Overall, this is a sick beat. Great work here.

DanJohansen responds:

Glad you like it man, I guess it does go towards Tenacious D in some way :) MARIO BREAK NECKS MAN! He's evil! lol

Brilliantly creepy

Wow did the backmasking at the start creep me out or at least I think it was backmasking. Not totally sure on it. When the full beat starts to play with the creepy sound in the background it sounds very nice to me anyways.

The backmasking at the start heavily makes me think of Silent Hill and how the radio would act weird when the creatures came near at all. The guitar sounds nice and simple to me I guess. The drums are simple and play in a good tempo to me as well. The scratch down was strange and cool I guess. The synth is also good here.

When the full beat plays without the scratching or voices it sounds very good to me. The voice and backmasking creep me out a bit though as the song is great but weird to me.

Overall, excellent job.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Heh heh, I do enjoying the 'ol reverse. More of a self manipulated backmask, using reverse, volume-envelopes and re-arranging to achieve the desired effect.

Silent Hill? That's a creepy game. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed my strange remix. I appreciate your steady ears and in-depth review.

Crazy!!

Wow is this one crazy sounding beat. Makes me think of Resident Evil and having to fight hundreds of zombies just to get out alive. Would love to see this in a zombie based game where you must fight to survive against the hoards of the undead as they come after you and your flesh!!!

The bass line is truly awesome and just draws you in with its simplicity and ease. The drums create a heavy atmosphere of panic as you run and gun to survive oncoming zombies after you. The synth creates the final piece of amazement and draws you in as the two of them play. Also like the buil up and reverse effects used in this too.

Overall, a very nice beat.

Podel1 responds:

Thank you! :)

Kitties

I have no honest idea why but this makes me think of keyboard cat reincarnated. Maybe it is because the bass line sounds similar to the one used in that beat I guess. Still a cool song though, won't lie. Makes you feel strangely funky yet awesome at the same time.

The bass line is jazzy and kind of weird when the scratches start to occur in this beat to me. The drums sound very nice and rapid which is good to hear I guess. The synth sounds cool to me. The scratches are just weird I guess and make the song feel like a sinister fighting beat I think.

Overall, pretty cool beat.

Marzyyy responds:

thanks man, it still needs a bit of cleaning up i guess
i guess it does somewhat sound related to keyboard cat lol
i appreciate your review!

Happy happy happy!!

This has a really upbeat and happy feeling to it. Could see it used in a lighthearted game or as credit music to some show aimed towards young people and make them laugh or smile while showing images from the episode to the credits.

The synth sounds very nice and upbeat here. I like how you have a second synth playing some long notes and then breaking down and sounding completely awesome. The drums sound very nice here too. Like how they keep a simple pace. The bass line is very nice.

Overall, sounds really nice but whenever the second synth gets high notes at few parts it sounds a bit weird.

Mantra-Ray responds:

thankyou for the great score
and yh it feels awkward listening to it
its something im still working one but my first ever submission sounds horrible so im trying to imrpove that

Pretty good

This actually turned out pretty good I would say. However I would recommend raising the decibel a bit so that it is a bit louder and easier for the listener to hear without turning up their speakers all the way or above halfway because when they go to watch or listen to something else they might make their ears hurt.

Really cool use and addition of a guitar here. Sounded pretty cool amongst the classical instruments. The drums sound very nice here. The keyboard sounds pleasant as well. Also like how chilled out the bass is here, completely unobtrusive as always.

Overall, you did a splendid job here!!

EagleGuard responds:

Yeah, getting the volume right seems to be a problem lately xD I'm using new headphones which don't have a volume changer you see on regular headsets. This means that if I up my computer's volume settings, my ears get blown off. I use normalization when I convert the song, but apparently that needs some tweaking... I'll do my best to increase the volume in future songs =p

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the review, much appreciated as always! :)

Relaxitive

Kind of makes me think of vocaloids which I also enjoy listening to as well. The beat just really does as it says, "relaxing". Really lifts all the sorrow of life off of your chest and makes you feel like a better person for a lot of reasons you can not even begin to explain to yourself.

The bass sounds very mellow and cool. I really like how upbeat both synths sound as well. They sound like what you would hear to make you feel good or something you would see in a chilling anime scene where the characters try to relax.

Like when the drums kick in and make the song a lot better. I just enjoy how that is going there. The overall flow seems to be real nice though.

Overall, really nice tune, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside yet relaxed.
