Trippy

The drums and slight synth at start are kind of strange. then the drums pick up some new pieces to play with and continue with it. Then the full song eventually comes into play after a bit. the beat itself is just kind of weird to me.

The wet sounding synth is just very strange to me and kind of makes me think of someone using a toilet sadly. Then the secondary synth is kind of like a seesaw as it goes up and down constantly then changes to a main electric sounding piece.

The drums were very cool here and start with one piece. Then it switches up to sounding a lot more like techno drums with the rapid pace and everything.

Overall, creative and strange.

I always look forward to your reviews, you always find a way to find my music creepy in a way haha! I take it as a compliment haha! Thanks for the reviews!

Guitar :C

This song would sound a lot better had you left out the guitar actually. I think this piece can suffice without it, you got everything needed for a great boss tune.

Guitar just kind of kills it.

The synth sounds great here and I like the rhythm it keeps up with providing as well. It kind of emphasizes that this could be the last battle you will ever have too.

The bass sounds very nicely worked here and is a good backbone. The drums sound quite epic as if the boss was incredibly difficult.

Overall, just remove the guitar and it sounds great.

Some mixed reviews about the guitar... It continues to elude me. I'm thinking maybe just a different guitar? Another instrument entirely? It seems kind of empty without it, especially the beginning. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the review!

Nice voice

This sounds like one of those voice people for those sports teams. It kind of annoys me every now and then since if I were to want to watch a sport I would want to watch the team without some voice distracting me. Wonder if the players ever get annoyed and distracted by it.

I think you sounded great here though. A whole lot of enthusiasm.

Overall, great job!!

I'm not sure they'd get distracted by it - that was my impression of an actual radio commentary on a New York Yankees game in the 1970s or 1980s

Spaaaaaaaaceeee!

This has a very atmospheric tone to it so I think this one shall have ended out well too. I like how the song kind of does make you feel like you are out in space as well. Cool vibe to it.

The synth sounds great with the collective phaser effect added on to it as well. Enjoyed the deep jazz synth feel I heard for a bit as well. The tune just seemed to be doing great.

The bass and drums seemed to work together to create the backing of the song and keep it in a good pace as well.

The synth was rather awesome!!

Overall, great space feeling song.

thx. i dont see how the synth was jazzy at all though haha

Great

Wow is this one long house piece!!

The drums start out with a subtle feel and taste to them as if inviting you to a party. The slight background synth seems to build up after the big wind sound effect I hear in this piece meaning this will be a very long and subtly relaxing piece of music too.

Enjoyed around 1:15 where there was a very slow and yet softly dramatic build up with the synth as well so that seemed to quite tame and amazing at the same time to me.

Really liked when the bass began to kick in right before the synth breakdown quickly where the synth started out the main beat. It sounded quite upbeat and catchy as well. Then the bass slowly built back in in the background of the song.

The digital beeps and boops kind of make you feel as if you were in a digital realm of some kind and simply exploring and trying to figure out where you were at and why you were there.

The tune begins to go back to a full motion piece with the phaser feeling effect slightly emphasized on the synth as if a DJ was slowly moving a turntable to create a digital effect of sorts.

Then it goes back down to where the bass is deep and low and the light xylophone sound has a part to itself. It plays and plays before the rest begin to slowly come back in with the drums starting it back in and then the bass and synth.

Around 5:00 it begins to slowly pick back up and turn out to be a subtly amazing piece of bliss and ear candy once more. The song just continues to play out as if just allowing the person to relax, dance, or simply think to themself.

The tune is very long but I think it managed to turn out well in the end too. I think this would do well in a club or private party anayways.

Overall, very long and wonderful piece!

Thanks for the review! Wow, such a detailed review! I'm glad that you felt like you were taken away into another world, that means I've done my job as a Progressive House artist :D

Hmm, it's interesting that you heard it as a xylophone, never even crossed my mind. It's a pretty standard Trance arp synth, but it does kind of sound like a xylophone I guess.

Amazing

I found this to be a very beautiful work of art actually. The tune just seems to kind of draw and lull you in and very softly and quietly relax you while you enjoy the beat. This one turned out quite marvelous indeed!!

The synth sounds quite awesome and kind of makes your ears feel quite happy with this. The secondary synth/chorus provides a very charming and soothing backing piece to make you feel good yet odd.

The drums here seem to have been reduced to simple kicks for the most part of this tune. The bass line sounds quite catchy as well and very simple at the same time.

Overall, very amazing and touchingly marvelous piece.

thanks for the review :D

it is a beautiful tune, its definitely one of my favourites :)

its aimed to be a weird feeling song.. i was all over the place making this mix, and yeh i guess it showed..
the kick, i didn't want to use at all.. but i thought the audience would lose interest if i didn't add a new sound nearing the end.. it seems to fit but preferably i'd go without :) so they were turned down a little in the mastering process..

thanks alot :D

Calming

Kind of makes me think of the very old and retro Zelda and Final Fantasy games where they tended to play this style of music after something tragic had happened in the game.

The flute sounds very calming yet sad at the same time in this piece. Kind of makes you feel as if something sad had happened and you are trying to cope with a way to deal with it. The flute seems to play with a style that seems to calm you down.

Overall, calming and sad.

CheckeredZebra responds:

Interesting, as the emotion you described in your review was EXACTLY what I was feeling at the time I made it. That just shows how a person's art is a link to their soul.

fun fact though is that the instrument that has most of the lead parts is supposedly a Tin Whistle, lol. (Not the first part, but the later melodies.) I was being kind of random at the time XD

Awesome

Liked the explosive intro almost as if people had suddenly dropped to the floor at the start of the dance and during the build up they are very slowly getting back up through dancing and break-dancing too. The tune just sounds very pumped for sure, excellent!

The synth sounds very fast and rapid here which is actually pretty great in my opinion as well. The synth seems to interweave and change between two different playing patterns for most of the song as well.

Enjoyed the build up where it started with a synth and all else soon joins back in.

The bass sounds very good and basic here while holding down the beat for the synth to go with. The bass seems to remind me of older and fun synth type songs.

The drums provide a back bone on this piece and keep you feeling great as well which is actually quite well.

Enjoyed near the end where it all slowly began to stop. Awesome.

Overall, very nice dance beat.

sumguy720 responds:

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! It's encouraging that you liked the ending, I've been kinda unsure about it.

You think maybe I should try to do more with the drums? I usually use them like you mentioned, as a backbone, which I guess I can do well, but maybe I should try to explore what I can do with the beat a little more.

Thanks again.

Sounds great

Kind of reminds me of a Touhou song called Bad Apple with how the synth slightly sounds near the start. This tune actually does sound quite good though so you seem to have worked that out just to the right degree. I also hear a slight bit of "Do you believe in life after love" near the midway point of the song too. This is a great tune though.

The synth sounds very light and bubbly and provides a great rhythm to get someone motivated to feel great as well. It kind of has a hop on and pull off feel as if trying to hit several notes quickly for a nice sound effect. Enjoyed when it broke down for a moment.

The bass sounds very subtle and almost mixes in perfectly with the synth which is great as well. The bass just seems to provide a great backing area of the song which is good.

The drums provide a great backbone as usual and sound very nice too. They seem to feel like a modified dance drum sound kit too as in a few notes were added and then it was all looped for a great drum sound.

Overall, I think you managed to do a very good job on this piece. Excellent work on this one. Good luck on future pieces.

Omnivore responds:

Alright! Your still the best reviewer in my book. Thanks for the luck, I'll be needing it to beat this song in the future X3
