Highly dandy

Sounds like a really cool video game piece anyways. Kind of like something that you would hear for the first few levels of a strange adventure platform game. The beat has a really hopping feel to it as well.

The synth sounds very slow, pleasing, and light to me. The deep synth bass is pretty cool and kind of makes me think of bees making a beat together for the rest of the hive I guess. Like the weird sword like sounds I hear as well.

The drums have a nice rhythm. Really like the wet bass kick they have. Double synth use later is pretty sweet.

Overall, wickedly nice.

Calming

Yes I do remember that level. It just happened to be one of the levels you could go to later in the game that actually tended to be a whole lot easier as it was you simply trying to balance yourself as much as possible and jumping very high.

The shakers and drums sound quite nicely fitted in here. The clarinet and steel drums make this feel a whole lot like it was really good beach music. Funny how it was also one of the very few levels where water is meant to hurt you if you stayed in it too long.

Overall, classy and cute cover.

Ironclover responds:

Thank you sir :) I felt the Clarinet sounded exactly like the Do Do Do sound, and the Steel Drums felt perfect :D

Nice shredding

Sounds like the start to a blues rock song and I admire that quite a bit too. It just sounds really cool.

The guitar play is quite swell in fluent playing though. I think the only thing you need is a bass guitar and/or drums to have play with it, imagine all the cool tunes you could make!

Overall, great guitar play.

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks man. Yeah if we get this Zoom controller completely figured out, (the instruction book is huge) there will be Drums and more. And it's good to see you like many different styles. We will be mixing it up a bit. And like I said before this was mostly just an experimental session, trying to figure new equipment out. We barely had the basics worked out, but things will get better, sound quality too.

Thanks again for the great review.

Sweet jam

I like how this one went, nice little solo and it sounds like the start to a song as well. Kind of reminds me of a couple of guitar intros which were solos for about a minute and then the rest was the song playing.

That is some nice hammer ons and pull offs, kind of sounds a bit like Buckethead actually which is a guitarist I admire a lot too.

Overall, solos!!

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks heaps. Comments greatly appreciated.

Nicely worked

Kind of sounds like the start to a Rage Against the Machine, Def Leppard, or Guns 'n' Roses song actually with just some long awesome notes like that. Sounds like you would be in a band or something.

On another note, should try a guitar jam session where you try to make some solos or such. Would be interesting to hear what you could do there too.

Overall, cool jam session again.

gamejunkie responds:

My friend (who shall remain nameless) is in a band. A very well known one at that. Hence the quality of his work. I'm not and have no wish to be. We both do some good solo work too, kind of goes without saying, but we found we just click together. I could not find a better jam partner. Anyway there's plenty more coming soon.
Thanks for the great review.

Funky

I will agree on this piece as it does sound quite funky to me. So what kind of sound effect are you using on the guitar amp?

The sound kind of makes and feels like it would be the start to some sort of movie as well. I think if you really wanted to start trying to make some cool pieces, a nice idea would be play the guitar as normal. Then come back and alter the amp to where the bass is the main sound of the guitar and record with the top two strings. then in the audio recording program tune down the pitch a bit for a bass line effect.

Overall, funky.

gamejunkie responds:

Cheers. Again I think we had the recording level to high with this one it seems. It's a shame this is my fave piece from this 1st session. We're gonna try do one session a week, get as many little pieces together as we can. Also we are plugged into amps with a mic hooked in front of the amp, then both running into the Zoom controller, to give crisper overall sound. And besides minor adjustments on Zoom, no effects as such, its just all natural and all good, all played normal as you put it. A little pedal and just a touch of wah.

Thanks again, gj.

Volume fixture

I actually had to turn up my speakers quite a bit to hear this one sadly.

The guitar does not sound too awful bad and the sound is very clear and very, very crisp sounding to the ears.

The note play is great on the guitar.

Overall, just need to fix the volume or check your recording device to make sure the sound is always being recorded loud and clear so one will not need to adjust the speakers as much. Nice jam though.

gamejunkie responds:

Yeah thanks, we were messing around with a new Zoom controller, so it was more likely a problem at our end. It's not an easy piece of equipment to come to terms with, but we're getting there. Thanks for the review.

Cheers gj.

Sounds great

Considering I've been playing guitar for four years now I think this one sounds pretty nice. The way you play the guitar is quite great for this one too. Funny how it took you forever to finally submit something to the portal.

You have some superb guitar playing skills as well. What kind of guitar are you playing anyways?

I think if I were to have any complaints on this piece is that at the start it is a bit quieter but towards the later half of the song it is louder for the rest of the song.

Overall, nice guitar jam.

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks. Well my friend has about 50 years experience. Yeah well it was about time I contributed something and my friend thought it would be cool. **Correction here. This one was done on a Fender Stratocaster**

Thanks for the great review. Much obliged.
Cheers gamejunkie.
