Mellow

Well I enjoy the quaint feel of this piece as it seems rather calm as well. Reminds me of a game called Illusions of Gaia actually. The tune just seems calm yet very spaced out at the same time too. Makes you feel kind of chilled out and like you can just relax for the day as well while the tune plays in your mind too.

The space feeling synth in the back makes you feel clearly relaxed as you lay back and just enjoy the cloudy day. The main synth has a bit of a pop and twist in it making you feel like you are going to have a good day as a friend gives you a hug as they have to move along doing other trivial matters. The drums sound nice and appear to be rolling the whole time while the song is played. The bass is very smooth and completely relaxing as well so I like it.

Overall, very nice and mellow piece of work.

Humorous

Well the intro was alright and this piece sounds kind of strange anyways. Makes me think of a zombie infested city that you must try to survive and get out of. As you awake you see you are still on the roof with long pieces of logs linking you to other rooftops. You feel safe since any time a zombie gets on the roof you notice they have a strong limp and always fall off and any that do get close can easily be sweeped off their feet and fall to their redeaths. Very strange but really well done strange piece.

The synth has a high echo effect that gives a strange feel as if you are looking at zombies anyways. The distorted sounding radio gives a feel as if you are trying to find hope that someone else out there is still alive in the world fighting the zombies as well.

The bass in the back gives a feel as if listening to zombies groan and you hear someone bust open the door to the roof and quickly barricade it. You hold a gun up thinking it is a zombie for a moment and notice it is a friend you thought dead and give her a light hug in case she is infected. You quickly go back to watching the city while she comes to sit down with you giving a hug glad to see she is not the only one alive.

Overall, very nice ambient experiment piece. Zombies!!

I liked this review. It's amazing how differently people see things in music; especially when it's my music-- knowing how crazy and weird it can be. :3

Zombies! :D

Very cool

I hear a mix of Final Fantasy along with that little tune that plays toward the end of episode two where Luna is forgiven and they throw that little party. Nice to know you are the first to take that little tiny tid bit and small tune and make it it into a full length that also adds the theme of the song in there as well, awesome!!

The violin sounds very calming yet also makes me think of Applejack as well. Also kind of makes me think of Luna hanging around in Ponyville with the Mane cast and learning more of friendship herself. The drums are very dynamic and cheery here so I do like them a lot I think.

The bass line is smooth here and very enjoyable. The flute is charming and draws you into to enjoy the piece as well. The piano also seems very relaxing and kind of makes you want to hug your favorite ponies and such too. Very relaxing and cheery feeling piece.

Overall, do you know you are my very best friend?? Very nice piece of work, I enjoyed it a lot.

Bizarre

Well it starts up and has a very bizarre feel to it I think. The slightly reversed sounding intro is weird and then it kicks up to a full piece that is completely awesome and pretty cool as well. Very nice and smooth drum and bass piece I think which is pretty cool anyways. The tune does get you pumped up though while you play some video games.

The synth is pretty sweet I think and very nicely worked in as it carries a slight retro feel to it. The bass is very nice sounding and quite thick while helping make the song very enjoyable to listen to I think. The drums are cool and very rapid pace here as well which keeps it great feeling I think. Some parts make me think of a boss battle though.

Overall, very nicely done drum and bass piece.

Bosses

Sounds like it could make a great boss battle piece I think as the music starts the boss is coming into the area and lets out a loud groan and states they feel a need to kill you and such. Then they change into their super form and the battle begins against the wily foe. Very nicely done musical piece.

The synth sounds relaxing here I think. The bass is very nicely done and keeps on coming rapidly in a row as well. The drums sound pretty nice here though. The bass provides a lot of rhythm here and also kind of makes you think of dancing as well which is great to hear to hear I think.

Overall, very cool feeling trance piece that doubles as boss music.

Soothing

Kind of gives me the feeling of just walking down a desolate street as I witness zombies eating what was once my friends. I take the gun in hand and just keep moving along trying to keep them from seeing me and from time to time I throw something in a random direction to throw them off while I scavenge and look for ways to survive as I try to find a way out of the city of zombies. Very well composed soundscape piece.

The synth kind of gives a space feel to me I think. Then from time to time I also hear a second synth in the back playing on a much lighter note and trying to help you relax and feel better as you move along in the zombie ridden city. The occasional violin sound is also very nice to hear too.

Overall, sound scape of calming beauty and zombies.

Wonderchild responds:

Ah, I love the reviews with a story to accompany it. I didn't really think this would be some kind of "soundscape" piece, but the the two reviews I've gotten so far suggest it is.
Still, thanks for the review (and the nice zombie story to go with it)!

Calm

Well I enjoyed this piece as the piano seemed to carry on a very nice and solid beat of its own. Kind of reminded me of the Final Fantasy VIII Griever battle in a way as well since the piano there sounded a bit heavy as well. Also just sounds like a dramatically sad boss battle piece though.

The piano seems calm as the tune carries on. I also see that it loops rather well leaving no thought that it loops but rather just sounds endless and well composed. Very well done.

Overall, calming and dramatic piano piece.

Thanks SCTE3!

This is the first proper piece I've composed in ages and really enjoyed it. Making atmospheres and stuff is fun but you can't beat making a good melody! I don't know the piece from that boss battle I'll have to check it out. I haven't listened to a lot of the final fantasy stuff actually.

I wanted to leave a bit of suspence at the end to try and get people to listen to it again. Thanks for the kind words and long live RRC!

Steady

Well I like this as it sounds very steady moving and kind of reminds me of the final battle in Paper Mario actually which is pretty cool I guess. Sounds like a really retro boss battle theme so this seems to go well while it is being heard as well. The tune seems to give a feeling of hope as you rush at the boss hoping to win in the final showdown here too.

The guitar sounds very nice and quite smooth too. The piano gives you a calm feel as you go forth hoping not to get crushed or harmed as the battle rolls onward. The bass sounds quite thick and gives a great feel to the song as well. The drums help finish the song with a nice sounding sweet beat here as well.

Overall, very boss like song, quite enjoyable as well.

UltimateCJ64 responds:

It does seem like a VG boss song, doesn't it? Not exactly what I was going for, but it sure would sound neat that way too.
The piano was a sort of derivative of me messing around on the keyboard, although with more sustain. Bass was intended to be thick, I'm glad it was.
Thanks for the review, dude! :D

Groove move

Starting up it sounds like something you would really enjoy partying to I think. Very well done party piece I think. The metal voice was kind of freaky I think but it helps move the piece along and keep it from slowing down as well. Kind of reminds me of a few funk pieces for some reason. Enjoyed how after the countdown it calmed down for a bit and then became a full blown party piece. Very well done techno piece.

The synth is awesome and love the latter of the song when multiple synths are all pulsing at once making you think of some sort of organic party machine I think. The bass was also pumped up I think. The drums helps finish the piece up and make it a pure party like song that also makes you think of raves as well, very well done and awesome party song.

Overall, awesome party song, weird metal voice but it makes it all the more awesome to hear I think.

Dj-GST responds:

Awesome :D

The metal voice is just some samples from Blutonium Boy Samples V2, that I stretched and distorted.

Thanks!

Haha awesome! Yeah, I EQ'd the bass patterns for the kick, and the low bass for the track itself.

Glad you liked this man :D

Groovy?

Well the intro seemed a bit repetitive but still nice sounding once the tune starts moving forward a bit. Sounds like a space level song or a space boss song as well which is pretty interesting I would say. The one sound kind of makes me think of someone saying someone's name here. The tune itself seems to be quite nice sounding though.

The drums seem to be the bread and butter of the song playing something the entire time here which seems to go well. Then the synth adds some life to the song by giving a smooth rhythm and tune for the drums to play with. The bass seems a bit wet which is also nice I think so that works I think. Then you got that one weird sound that just sounds like something saying someone's name strangely.

Overall, a very interesting piece, I think I could dance and relax to it, nice.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Thanks for the review, SCTE3! ^_^

I'm glad you found it groovy. That's the vibe I was going for. Repetition is sometimes a good thing, but you have to balance it with variation I think to make a good song. I'm glad you found the tune nice sounding too.

I spent a lot of time mixing the drums. This was mainly an exercise on how to make a pumpin' Electro House beat, where the drums are usually the bread and butter for the song. I used a bit of gated reverb on the bass, I'm not sure if it helped, I might experiment with that.

Thanks for your interest, and complimenting the song's danceability. That's one of the main aims of my music, that it's danceable :)
