Good mix

Good grief the last time I even watched this was when I was six and that was a long time ago. Nice how you decided to remix the song and make it a bit less annoying anyways. The drum samples here are nicely worked out I think. Like what you managed to do here anyways.

The original pieces are cool anyways. Like the person doing the "HUH" parts too. Very nice remix anyways, pretty cool.

Overall, creative.

Chaotic

Sounds like something you would see at one of those weird stage shows I guess. Also sounds like a death metal song with the guitar replaced wit ha synth which is funny and cool I suppose. This one turned out strangely cool though so that was a pleasure anyways.

The synth is very cool and high toned and pitched here. Kind of makes me think this would be an excellent boss stage song to use actually. The bass line sound very fat here and loud which is sweet. The drums provide the last piece and have an excellent pace with them. Really enjoyed the double bass parts too. The voice near the start was cool I guess.

LightKeeper responds:

Thanks, like I said working on a lot of "experimental" stuff right now. Just trying to find a sound I like and trying to master my techniques so I can really make something "mind blowing." This isn't it, but it's a step forward. I've actually heard the idea for this as boss music before, and I think that'd be pretty awesome.

Thanks for the review!

Very glitchy

I can kind of tell where the ponies are since they are the glitch sounds anyways. The high pitch is pinkie pie while the lower one is Fluttershy right? Sounds very well composed here as well. Really enjoy how the beat manages to flow. I hear a bit of Rainbow Dash as well.

Like how this sounds like a mix of rock and trance or as I prefer to call it "Electro Rock" which sounds pretty nice too. The bass line is a good foundation and I enjoy it goes here. The synths sound very pleasing. The drums keep in good time and I like the glitchy pony voices used here.

Overall, good piece. <3

poowis responds:

Yeah you're right with the samples, and thanks, I'm happy to hear the composition works.
Electro Rock eh? That sounds suiting to be honest, but as I say, who needs genres...

Thanks a lot, now just needs some hi-hat work and a name...

Nice job

Heh, the Vanilla Dome, Bowser Valley, and Special World overworld themes were my three favorite tunes from the game actually. Mostly because they just bring out some of the best from the game with great challenges to the player.

The xylophone sounds brilliant with the high notes. The piano playing deep notes was a nice touch here as well. The other deep sounds I hear are just icing on the cake. You did a good job of making a cover version of this song.

Overall, nice!!

Ironclover responds:

Thank you, and I have the Special World in progress! So it will be here soon. Thank you :D

Meow meow

I still have yet to figure out why the thing saying meow in a speedy fashion is nyan? Oh well, the name sticks though right? This a good piece the one night that I keep hearing throughout the loop sounds a bit like a chocobo to me which is cool I guess.

The bass line was nicely done. The main synth playing the higher notes is really nice to hear as well, kind of makes you feel happy too. The drums are simple and good too. I like where you added another instrument later in, sounds as if it were trying to calm the song down a bit too.

Overall, nice remix.

ganon95 responds:

yea, i didn't want to keep it the same thing over and over so i mixed it up a bit

Potential

This seems pretty decent for a first actually. The piano sounds a bit like a synth but that is not a real concern to me since you use a few other instruments to stay to the classical area of music too. This piece sounds nice though. Kind of makes me think of Final Fantasy One through Five since they tended to have tracks like these for most of the game except in battles.

The piano synth sounds very calming yet erratically cool. Liked the later part where it began to play the higher notes in a dramatic fashion too. The xylophone and bells were very well done too, they just add to the beat and make it sound better as well. Like the chorus you added, they just give off a good feeling of a middle age styled thing going on.

Overall, good potential for you in the future, keep it up.

Angiki responds:

Erm... As much as I appreciate the positive comments and score, I didn't add a choir, though I do know what you mean, there was that voice-like element as a byproduct of the synthesizer, and as coincidental as that was I think it does make for a nice effect. As for piano, well... I have no idea where you're getting that from, because it was a string section synth, with a timpani and celesta coming in near the end.

Calm cover

I have to say that this is a very nice piano cover actually. Touches right onto the original as well. I really enjoyed what you did here. Would be cool if you did another version with a bass line and very soft drum noting.

Very soothing

Wow does this bring back good memories before my disc 1 and 3 stopped working on me actually. This tune just seems real relaxing to me as well actually. Even when I got lost in the caves and dungeons of the game this piece always managed to calm me down a bit after a battle with a tough beast. Really enjoyed this when I was hunting for the Tonberry King Guardian Force(GF) since it took forever to kill off twenty tonberries sadly.

The ambient tones used here were nice. The xylophone and ghost effect sound were very nicely done. The synth notes are also calming here. I really enjoy this remix all the way since it is very relaxing as well. Very nice work on this piece.

Overall, relaxing remix from a good game. <3 <3 <3

Incredible

Is it me or did this theme battle song just get better all of a sudden? I liked how it sounds like a sped up version of the original battle song which is good here because it just continues to up the pace of battle with how it sounds.

Enjoy how there are a few synths all playing and making a wonderful melody of the tune. Then it gets calm for a bit. The bass line here was also fine tuned. But woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the drums make this whole entire thing seem really fast paced and fun sounding so you did an awesome job there actually.

Overall, awesome speedy remix!!

Great remix

I found this to be completely awesome actually. Like how you added a guitar to the mix actually which makes it a pretty cool remix as well. The keyboard sounds the same and good. Almost always hated the Minotaur brothers and Diablos since they both took me ages to finally beat and get on my team and I always gave them both to Rinoa along with Carbuncle.

The guitar sounds sweetly done here and I really enjoyed it. Good work with the drums on this one too. Then lastly came the bass which finishes up the song. All the way through it just screams how good the game was.

Overall, excellent cover piece.

Spailpin responds:

Haha Glad you enjoyed it!

I always hated fighting Diablo, but once you had him, he was awesome. Also, his card is really awesome and allowed me to whoop the Queen of Cards finally, and start getting some more serious cards. I realize not everyone played the card game, but I found it to be really awesome. I had no problem with Tthe Minotaur Bros. because you can just cast float and ignore all of their ground attacks.

Okay, enough being a nerd. Thanks for listening!
